This review is from: Then There Were Six: The True Story of the 1944 Rangoon Disaster (Paperback)
This book is alright. I like the POW viewpoint, it gives another side of war, but the book really doesn't show you what happens, it more so tells you. I found it a poor example of the cruelty of the Japs because it only says what happened, it doesn't describe it in detail. Good quick read though.

I found the book to be very informative on the conduct of the Japanese officers. I also found it to show an open side to the "regular" army guys. The knowledge that we had incompetent commanders whose ego trips caused death and misery to our troops was a refreshing view. Hats off to Mr. Thomasian for giving us an honest view of the war. Very easy to read. Missed a lunch date to finish reading. Thank you Mr. Thomasian.
