Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

"Don's books do nothing for your short game, but they're a must read for golf fanatics who want to walk the walk and, more important, talk the talk." -- Matt Lauer, cohost of Today Bestselling golf writer and golf historian Don Wade returns with a completely new collection of heartwarming true golf stories. Following the unprecedented success of Wade's six previous golf-story collections, "And Then Tiger Told the Shark¿" brings together past champions like Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan with today's current stars like Tiger Woods and David Duval. You'll read about the epic series of matches between Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb, the important advice a certain friend gave Nancy Lopez on married life, and CBS Sports golf commentator David Feherty's hilarious run-ins with American political correctness. Golf has become the sport of the 90s, and this engaging collection celebrates the people, the camaraderie, and the spirit of the game. These off-the-cuff and often hilarious stories are a must-read for anyone who treasures the sport, for more than any other sport, golf lends itself to the art of storytelling. This wonderful collection, like the six that proceeded it, contains hundreds of stories that truly capture the essence of the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don Wade does it again!, September 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: "And Then Tiger Told the Shark . . ." (Hardcover)
I don't know how he does it, but Wade consistently gets the best stories from the best golfers. And it's not just the big names or seniors players - he's got Se Ri Pak and Tiger Woods as well as Norman, Nicklaus and Ballesteros. Another great read.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing, December 8, 2003
By A Customer
I really don't get why Don Wade is regarded as golf's master story teller. For a man with as much experience as him I would have thought he'd have a few juicier stories to offer than the rather lame anecdotes printed here. Most of the time I turned a page eager to discover how the story ended only to find that it already had.
