I used this book when I learned how to play and now that I'm teaching, it's still a decent beginning theory book. It's been re-done sometime since I used it as a child. The lessons are to the point and each page takes only a few minutes max, so there isn't really enough time for a student to get bored with the work. I recommend this book for beginners using a traditional piano method.

I had this book 25 years ago. Now I am teaching piano and this theory lesson book is still the same; which is great! So glad to see it still has removable pages for easy lesson work. Highly recommend and would buy this item again.

Seems to be fairly well rounded. We use other Schaum series books to supplement, but if I had to choose a single series to use, the theory lessons/note speller pair would probably be it for younger or new piano students. This is the last book in that series.

this is a great exercise book, as long as you have some previous knowledge of music theory.

I use John Schaum theory for all of my students. They need the work book to really understand the way that music is written. This is a good idea for anyone that is learning to play the piano. I highly recommend buying this very reasonably priced book.
