Editorial Reviews

Review

The Theory and Practice of Challenge Education is an outstanding contribution to the field of advenure and experiential education. It captures the critical philosophical models and theories of practice as well as giving the reader key examples of how to anchor learning to practice. I have used this book as a text for Graduate level classes and has been well received and valued by all who have used it. -- Stuart Shepley, Associate Director, Bradford Woods Outdoor Leadership Center, Indiana University

This text provdes an excellent resource as a college-level text, a tool for practitioners, or a reference tool for writers and researchers. But most importantly, the text offers a diversity of perspectives that would help anyone invest in a challenge program an opportunity to expend and synthesize their understanding of the field. And come the next late night discussion, the reader will be well prepared." -- Association for Experiential Education Book Review
