5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME Dallas based rock band. This album is amazing... February 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD
I first saw Galea in 2009 at a Galactic Cowboys reunion show in Dallas, and let me tell ya', they blew me away. They are a three piece band, lead by Mary and Chris Howell. I grabbed this CD the same night that I saw them, and it's an amazing album. Hard rocking, crunchy riffs, with very melodic tunes and incredible vocal lines. They definitely have their own sound, unlike 99% of the bands on the radio that all sound the same.

Right off the bat, the opening tune "Drop" starts with a mildly crunchy guitar riff, then explodes into a saturated groove. This leads into the snapping snare intro of "Static", the second track. Mary's vocals carry the song with a beautiful harmony, and catchy medley that sticks with you until the end.

Another track that sticks out in particular to me is "Pressure Desert" You know how you listen to an album that you really like, but there is always one track that you listen to more than others? This one is that tune for me. The guitars and vocals blend so well on this tune. A very dark sounding track, that hits all the right spots.

I really hope to hear more material from Galea in the future. They're one of the great DFW bands that are churning out great music that deserve a lot more notice, and need to be featured players in todays modern Rock/Metal scene.
