What Makes TheraBreath Different?

TheraBreath was created by Dr Harold Katz, a UCLA Dentist and Bacteriologist, for his school-age daughter. She was being teased and bullied at school for her breath and he wanted to give her back her confidence. He decided to take a new approach to cleaner teeth and fresher breath by using the natural power of Oxygen to attack hostile germs that live inside the mouth. After extensive clinical trial the TheraBreath formula came to pharmacies, dental offices, and drug stores and has quickly become one of America's best-selling specialty oral care brands.

TheraBreath Products are Manufactured to Strict Clinical Standards and Are Certified as:

From put of nowhere my wife informed me that it smelled like something died in my mouth. This took me by surprise because I brush twice a day and floss every night. The smell came on quickly and would not go away, I don't know what brought it on. I began using Listerine but that did not help and from what they say at therabreath, it may have made matters worse. I got the mouthwash, toothpaste and breath mints on Monday and began using them right away as directed (brush, mouthwash, floss and mouthwash again) twice a day. Last night (Wednesday) I asked the wife about my breath...she said it smelled fine. I went from constant detectable odor from 4-5 feet away to no odor even when close up in three days. It may have even worked faster but I never asked if my breath smelled until Wednesday and considering that she does not hesitate to tell me if it does smell I believe that it did work faster. It leaves your teeth felling so smooth and clean. If you have bad breath get this product.

Ok, Ok I know I might have exaggerated a little on the title but let me tell you, this stuff really DOES WORK. I've been married for 16yrs. and around 8 years ago for some unknown reason I started to develop bad breath(yuck) and this started to affect my relationship with my wife. I noticed she would not kiss me as often and would usually turn away when I tried to get face to face close up with her. I thought she was being cold and insensitive but when she broke down to tell me the true reason why she would avoid kissing me because of my bad breath I was a little hurt but mostly upset at myself because of this nasty breath problem. I couldn't blame her I wouldn't want to kiss me either if I would have known how bad my breath was. She said it was so bad that I would stink up our bedroom and it got to the point where my own kids where afraid to come near me!! I was desperate and determined to cure this horrible problem so I tried everything! I went to the dentist and got a $300 "Deep cleaning" but that didn't work, I tried numerous so called "Bad breath eliminator products" they didn't work. I tried the Pro Fresh program and that was ok but it was too expensive and it left a bleachy taste in your mouth. I tried home made remedies, but nope, nada! I gargled vinegar, peroxide, and was almost willing to gargle bleach!! but NOTHING seemed to work. Until about a month ago I happened to be strolling down the toothpaste aisle at Walmart and noticed this weird looking green bottle that had claims of "eliminating bad breath" I thought to myself ,"Ya right, just like everyone else" but as I read the label I was intrigued by the "Guaranteed" claim they had and also because these are natural ingredients. So I thought,"Oh well I should try this, what do I have to lose any way a few bucks and my bad breath?Read more ›

Don't get me wrong...I am a big fan of the Therabreath products (although the only other I've tried is the mouth rinse). However, I think it is quite misleading that this product advertises a reduction in canker sores. Yes, it doesn't use the harsh detergent known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is always good thing. Instead, they use a different detergent, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, which after my experience with this toothpaste, is just as bad as the former SLS!

I had been using Rembrant's Canker Sore Sufferers toothpaste for months, and absolutely loved the stuff because I never got canker sores. I wanted to try the TheraBreath toothpaste after discovering the amazing mouth rinse, which I thought would work better in conjunction with this toothpaste than it would with my Rembrant.

Big mistake on my part. After a day of using the TheraBreath I had already developed 3 canker sores (yes, three!). I figured it was merely a coincidence, or had to do with what I was eating, or maybe because I was brushing too hard. Nope, nope, and nope. Why? Because when I used the TB toothpaste it stung my sores like hell, just like all the SLS toothpastes I used in the past did. This only made the sores grow. Finally, I went back to the Rembrant. Although I had huge sores still, the Rembrant didn't irritate or exacerbate the sores in any way.

After doing a quick Google search, I found that Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate actually causes canker sores as well. I think in order for this to be a good product, you need to be the kind of person who never gets canker sores to begin with. It would be great if TheraBreath got rid of all detergents in their toothpastes...until then, I would highly recommend Rembrant for Canker Sore Sufferers.

I had some massive bad breath and was super self-conscious about it. Now c'mon, I'm a cute lady and the bad breath was killing me and was completely embarrassing. I did my due diligence as I do with all new products I use (who's anal???...me). I came upon TheraBreath, read the reviews (the good, the bad, the ugly), and decided it was a $10 investment I was willing to make. Actually, I spent more than $10 because I got the tongue scraper, the mouth wash, the lozenges, the tongue spray (umm yes, that's how paranoid I was), basically the whole nine. Used the toothpaste and all the other products and I was cured! I know, I know...really? was I cured? You have to diligently use the toothpaste, don't switch back to your old stuff, because the bad breath will come back. I've been using this product for 3-4 years now and no longer need the other stuff, just the toothpaste. I have fresh breath ALL the time, except of course after I first wake up, eww. Don't expect minty freshness, that sensation is put in regular toothpaste to play with your head and get you thinking your breath and mouth are fresh, they are not.
Just a side note: if you have tonsil issues (aka craters in your tonsils where food accumulates and rots), this will contribute to your bad breath. TheraBreath has a product that you gargle and swallow and this helps neutralize the the odor causing agents in your tonsils.
Give this product a fair chance, follow the directions to the T before you get give up on it. There is hope for you and you deserve good breath and to rid yourself of that paranoia. Good luck!
