5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute essential for home use
24-pound bar would be great for young athlete: basketball, football (especially a QB/receiver), baseball (pitcher/hitter) to build upper torso strength and tone. Try 3-cycle/25+ rep workout of curls, military press, reverse curls, standing lat raise, and behind-the-neck triceps presses--and feel that burn! This is great for anyone who doesn't have time (family, schedule)...

I think this is one of the simplest but effective weight devices I've used in 35+ years. Get one and you'll agree.

Body bars can be used for a number of reasons. I find they're excellent for things like chest presses to get even weight distribution for arm and chest exercises, and also for using for balance and especially great for using to keep good posture when squating (place on back of your neck and put your hands on each end).
You can choose different weights and you can get quite an effective workout by using these. Since Australia has decided not to sell these anywhere, I got mine shipped from an online source and have been so happy using it ever since. They are great and it's the perfect tool to mix up your exercise routine.

This is some really good training equipment.
I have noticed that the publicity for this type of weights is directed mostly at women, not to mention that the weight may be too small, and the design "a little to pretty" for some of the manly guys out there, but anyone can get some good training out of these.
If you are a girl, by all means go ahead and try them out if they are appealing to you, as they certainly will provide you with more options for the kind of exercises that get you the lean, long muscles girls like to have, and if you're a guy, there are still plenty of things you can do with these; all it takes is a little creativity.
If you do muscle confusion, for example, you can mix these up with kettlebells and medicine balls of whatever weight, according to your ability.
Mixing this light type of weights with the heavier, larger ones gives an entirely new feeling to your workout, as you get to train the large muscle groups as well as the small, and this greater mixture of exercises allows you to have longer, more dynamic, and more enjoyable workouts, as you can "rest" between exercises with the heavier weights by using these lighter ones, while your larger muscles recover for the next set, and so you can keep on building and toning your muscles through the entire workout while hardly stopping at all.
These bars are really good for getting definition by doing high reps, especially the 24-pounders.

2.0 out of 5 stars What is the lengh of the bars?, January 14, 2006
This review is from: Body Toning Bars (Misc.)
The only reason why I am NOT buying this product, is because the description doesn't give the lengh. How stupid...!!!
I am sure I am not the only one to turn this great product down. Come on, think a little and tell us how long it is.
