I bought this product at Costco some four years ago, and I simply love it.

There are thirteen left in stock at the time of this post; There are about to be twelve ;-)

As an engineer type, I'm thoroughly impressed with the construction, thoughtfulness and
ease-of-use that this purifier gives, and as an owner of two cats I love not only its
effectiveness as a product but also for its overall form/fit and emitting sound.

At levels one and two (which mine has stayed at, maintenance aside, for about 4 1/2 years)
it's not even noticeable. It can be next to a dresser, in the middle of the room or even
(my preference at times) near the air intake of the furnace/central air, doing its job.

It's surprisingly low with power usage as well. I just tested it:
- At low level, it uses approx. 9 watts (about that of a night-light bulb)
- At level two, it uses approx 50 watts (about that of a dim light bulb)
- At levels three and four, it uses 70-75 and 90-95 watts respectively,
both less than how much a standard 100watt hallway light bulb would take,
and I must note, at level four, I can feel the air blow clear from the
lower level of my house to the loft.

Finally - Its claim that the bulbs last 10,000 hours - I don't want to
say it's a lie, but it's a lie in a -good- way. There are 8700 hours
in a 24/7/365 year, and my bulbs lasted 3 1/2 years before one conked
out (it was $13 to replace).

Maintenance is a piece of cake - vacuum it out with a vacuum hose and
the brush attachment once in a while (I get around to it every couple
months) and you're good.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's on every day, all day. April 21, 2013

Verified Purchase
I first purchased the TheraPure air purifier when my baby was diagnosed with RSV. When he left the hospital, he was on breathing treatments, and at risk for developing asthma. My carpeted house, my four dogs, our air-inversion location, there were so many factors that potentially were dangerous for him......so I bought a couple of these. He was restricted to the two rooms that I ran them in full-time. And, I have been running them since. Purchased 3 years ago. Two months ago, I had a foot surgery and my mother came to help out. When she was here, she asked if I could buy her some of these air-purifiers. I had previously tried to get her to buy some for my father (or even to just try mine for a bit!) who has a COPD type condition caused from inhaled chemicals. She was highly skeptical. More like, laughed at me and my goofy-tree hugger ways. But, when she was at my house, she told me she could feel the difference in air quality, for the rooms that had the purifiers. She said that it felt like she was walking behind a waterfall. And I would agree, the air feels fresher, cleaner, in the rooms with the purifiers. So, long story short, I have had mine for 3 + years, and I still run them every day, all day. And, they actually converted my mother, a nonbeliever, not with argument, debate or persuasion, but with the actual physical evidence you can feel in the air. I would absolutely recommend these. No question about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb April 24, 2013
This machine is spectacular! The allergens in Las Vegas are outrageous. Most people don't know that. Add 4 cats to the mix and you could have a sinus nightmare, which we did- until we got this beauty of a machine. I run it constantly and my electric bill has barely changed (+5-10$) Being able to scrub the air with the UV option is terrific during cold season and I believe because of it, none of us have suffered a bug longer than 2-3 days of sniffles, nothing serious. The Ionizer keeps things fresh and so clean and not having to use the options just to run the machine truly makes it customizable! I love the 4 settings. I run it on high for about an hour every day, to scrub the air and keep things clean and then run it on speed 1-2 which is whisper silent.
The filter is what seals the deal for me on the value of this product. I simply take my Dyson and use the attachment to vacuum the filter and I can SEE what has been removed from the air! Lots of bad stuff!
Our home is so much cleaner and I couldn't be happier. I'm considering getting a second to keep at the other end of the house but really, we haven't needed it.
Really terrific product with an excellent value. I've had this for about 3 mo. and have experienced no issues and total satisfaction.
