Affordable equivalent to prescription product,

Used with Cerave moisturizer, this product is very successful at controlling dishydrotic hand eczema. Its most useful feature is the ability to soothe the burning and itching sensation of inflamed hands. It probably does seal out some water and other irritants and prevent flares. One of the unique features is the active ingredient dimethicone in a lipogel base - soothes, protects, and repels water.
The reason this product gets 3 stars is because the drug company that markets it is tricking patients. The prescription-only product Tetrix is made by the same manufacturer (DPT Laboratories) and marketed by the same company (Healthpoint = Coria Labs), and contains the exact same formulation (same patent 5482714, identical ingredient list). But Tetrix requires a prescription and costs $80 for 4 oz. Theraseal was put on the market in 2001, and Tetrix in 2008. Does that make any sense? In any case, if you get a prescription for Tetrix, ignore it and get Theraseal for a much better deal.

My husband has very dry hands, to the point of cracking. He has tried numerous different products unsuccessfully. I read about Theraseal in Real Simple magazaine and thought we would give it a try. After paying twice the price at a pharmacy, I checked on line and found it on Amazon. The cream works wonders!

I have used this product for the past 2 months and my hands have never been softer or more moisturized. I have dry skin normally and this helps me retain moisture. AWESOME product.

My mother had used a sample of this product and thought it worked well. She had looked for it at the local stores, but was unable to find it anywhere. So, she stopped by one afternoon and asked if I could look it up on my computer. She was very happy we found it. She constantly washes her hands at work and found that this product is really great. It forms a protective barrier on your skin, so when you wash your hands with soap, the water kinda beads up. I ordered the TheraSeal for her and one for my husband, who has really dry skin. He also washes his hands a lot at work and finds this product to be worth the $15.

Overpriced!,

The active ingredient on this product is Dimethicone, which is found in other cheaper moisturizing lotions like Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion, 18-Ounce Pump (Pack of 2). Why would you spend more on this product?

I tried this in place of a prescription that I had for my cracked hands and it has worked very well. I put it on several minutes before getting my hands wet and it stays on after I have had my hands in water for several hours. Reasonable priced, would recommend.

I wish this product lived up to great reviews I read. I'd hoped it would be somewhat waterproof, but it washes off very easily (unless you wait hours before handwahing), and it's effects aren't very long-lasting even if it isn't washed off first. Waste of money.

I've been a nurse for almost 4 years and I've been searching for the perfect thing for my hands- usually using creams from places like The Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. I'm continually having to either wash my hands with soap/water or use hand sanitizer- infection control is a must!! By the end of the shift my hand are very dry, tight and I'll occasionally have a rash on my wrists. Most lotions moisturize, but that only lasts until my next hand washing. And eventually lotions just burn my skin because it's so dry. I've also been told that a lot of lotions are not compatible with the chemicals in the soap/sanitizer.
TheraSeal works great!! There is no scent so I don't have to worry about not being allowed to use it and I can actually tell that it leaves a protective layer/coating on my hands for 2-3 washes. It also protects my hand from continually having to use hand sanitizer- which used to burn by the end of my shift. If you are thinking about buying this- BUY IT. I bought a case of 12. A friend at work bought 4 of them off me. I also use them at home and try to keep one at each sink.

A miracle cream!,

This stuff is amazing! I have always had sensitive skin, and from having a newborn and using latex gloves at work I have to wash my hands constantly. In the winter they get so bad my knuckles bleed. I used to be able to use Eucerin, but now when I use it, it irritates my skin. My dad, who has a similar problem, told me about TheraSeal, and I tried it for a few days while visiting him. It was amazing how much it helped, my knuckles healed and my skin is now so smooth, it even helped on my dry elbows. I put it on only in the morning and at night, it also doesn't leave a greasy feeling like Eucerin did which is great! I highly recommend it, I only wish I could find it in a local store so I didn't have to pay for shipping!
