This is perhaps the best ice pack to ever grace the planet. It's soft and flexible so that it molds to your shape, and just heavy enough that it stays in place easily. Definitely not just for backs -- I've used it pretty much everywhere, since the size and flexibility of the material make it so easy to use. And unlike a lot of other ice pack brands, it doesn't seem to absorb food odors from the freezer over time.

It also does an awesome job of cooling the bed down on hot summer nights. :)

I agree with most of the positive reviews here about this product for its effectiveness, but I totally disagree with anyone who says this product's durability is good. It does not "last forever" what a joke. I have purchased 4 of these, and all 4 have started leaking at the seam after about 6 months to 1 year of frequent gentle use. My wife uses them for headaches and backaches, on average she probably uses them every other day. We take excellent care of them, they still look brand new. When putting them in the freezer we fold them gently in half. When using them for headaches, she leaves it folded, and places it on her forehead. For her back she flattens it and lays on top of it, with it under the small of her back. Every one has started leaking. However, the location of the leaks are not at the fold, they are always in the seams at the side edge between the 2 outermost panels. The leaks have never been between the 2 center panels where it is folded. We never lay on top if it when its folded. The material doesn't rip or tear, the seal between the two materials seems to open up. This leads me to believe that the manufacturing process to seal the two surfaces together is poor.

I have used the Theramed products for a long time. My old cold pack for backaches lasted for years; but was flattening out. I researched and bought their new Back Coldpak. It has one side with a soft "fabric" surface that the patient can use straight out of the freezer. After a little while it can be switched to the other side to keep the cold therapy at maximum. I have trouble finding them at the stores so may have to buy another one as a "back-up" (pun intended.)

I ordered this itemm (together withmy favorite heating pad at [..]for my daughter for Christmas. She has suffered from RA for 18 years and has never owned the very best equipment for recovery comfort. I have had chronic back problems for 27 years and cured them by following my Chiropractor's advice given many years ago and by investing in this specific Cold Pack.It has lasted for over 15 years, in perfect shape, and is a replacement of an identical pack. I loaned the first one to a friend who moved without returning it. I bought this together with a great heating pad ([..]) The supplier;s name is well printed on the pack qnd an internet search finally revealed my goal Because it was Xmas, I bought the two small cold packs for 6.95 and my daughter loves them. ..small pack on wrist, large pack on knee..heating psd on wherever else. The secret is 10 minutes of ice, followed by 10 minutes of heat, followed by 10 minutee of rest and repeat the process. Take a 1 hour break and repeat the first hour. Ice/heat stimulates and jump starts healing circulation I keep ny ice pack folded inside a thick plastic bag in my freezer at all times, and it's ready to go in an instant..no water, no leaky bag. Refreezes suffuciently for reuse in about 20 minutes.This is a GREAT INVESTMENT in self-care and at a price way cheaper than when I bought mine at CVS. These ship from separate suppliers, but both cam within 6 days at free or ground rates. Add it to your cart and know you made a good choice.

Wow I love this ice pack. One of the best things I have bought. I hurt my lower back and needed to put ice on it. Most ice packs are cheap, uncomfortable and too cold.

This ice pack is the best!!!!! You use it one 1 side for 5 minutes and turn it over to the soft fabric blue side for the remanding 20 minutes. Love it and has helped my back so much!! A very flexible ice pack that you will use for many aches and pains for your body.

I was told by my chiropractor that this was a great product and I have to agree. He said use the blue side for 5 mins and then the white for 15 mins. Brrr its chilly, but it definitly gets deep into my back tissue. Using this twice a day had significantly helped to decreased my pain from my two bulging discs.

Worst ice packs ever, i've had 3 break!!

I have back problems so i use them every day.. i sit on the couch with them tucked into my waist band...

I've had 3 and my aunt has two. With ALL of them, the interior chemicals (which are white) seep through the blue side..

2 of them had holes along one of the folds within weeks. The 3rd busted at the corner and got aweful white chemical goo on my clothes and couch!!!

NOT worth $1 let alone the $25-30 they cost!!!

Luckily Amazon was kind enough to give me my money back, i just ordered 2 of these Cold Pack - ColPaC Brand - Blue Vinyl - Half Size - 7.5" x 11" they reviews look promising.

The cold lasts. Sharp edges DO NOT form, so there's none of that stabbing effect of some ice packs. Nothing to leak. Last forever. (unless you misplace them)

Exactly what the doctor ordered!j And unrolled flat in your freezer, they re-freeze in minutes.

I am not sure how to rate this product. When the item arrived, it came loose in a box. There were no instructions in the box to speak of. I bought it because the description says Hot and Cold pack, however the item says "cold pack" right on it, but makes no mention of dual temp or hot pack. I was afraid to put it in the microwave for fear of melting it, and ruining my microwave. As a cold pack, it works great. I just wish I knew if it really was safe to microwave.

I leave the pack in the freezer for 24 hours and it still only stays cold for about 30 minutes max.
