This product really works! I use this product for myself and for my dogs. It keeps away fleas and mosquitos.

This nontoxic bug spray has a strong but pleasant scent. It definitely keeps the mosquitos away. We use it on the whole family in the summer, and it works as well as the DEET stuff. I highly recommend it.

I live in the tropics, and where I am there are no-see-ums (locally known as "Chitras"). They are tiny, almost invisible, biting insects of the same family as mosquitoes. Most people have a strong reaction to this little beasts if they are not accustomed to them (takes a few months). I won't use toxic chemical based insect repellents for health reasons. Yet I've had a challenging time finding an effective solution for the chitras. There is a lemon eucalyptus (Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent - 4oz Spray) product which works very well, but I find it is too strong for my skin and gives me a rash, especially if I use it on my face or neck.

I have also made up concentrated essential oil formulas with mixed results. Again, by the time I get a mix which is highly effective it ends up being so strong I find it gives me a rash, again especially if I apply it to the face or neck.

Then a friend comes to visit and he comes armed with Theraneem Outdoor Herbal spray. He left his bottle with me and today I used it during chitra hour (between 4:30 and 5:30 when the chitras or no-see-ums come out in full force). Normally this is a time of day when I simply have to go inside, as there are just way too many of these biting beasts. But I had to be outside to help a friend get something done before night. With this spray on my skin I was completely chitra free! Amazing. It's the first natural repellent formula I have found that is so effective against no-see-ums. And I was able to apply it to my face, neck, ears, etc., without any reaction. It felt very gentle and didn't give off strong fumes into the eyes.

I highly recommend this product. I think it will be equally as effective against mosquitoes because they are related to no-see-ums and are typically easier to repel.

NOTE: This product is reported to need reapplication every couple of hours. If you need a longer lasting product I recommend trying Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent - 4oz Spray. It is government approved with a 6 or 7 hour rating (with the same effectiveness as 90% DEET, just 2 hours less in its approved rating... DEET lasts for 8 or 9 hours). It works well, but it certainly is strong... which may be what you require depending on your circumstances. I recommend getting both products. REPEL for when longer lasting effects are necessary, and Outdoor Herbal Spray the rest of the time.

Outdoor Herbal Spray might also be more suitable for children, as they tend to have more sensitive skin and REPEL would likely be too strong for them.

This is the most amazing product. It helps to sooth the pain of many stings. Recently my son was stung by a scorpion and I was so glad to have this on hand. Spray it on directly after a sting and when ever a wave of pain returns.

Great product! Haven't been bitten yet and those terrible black flies up north are brutal! I especially like that I'm not being poisoned!
