Good,

Alright let me start this off by saying that I am a huge Living Legends and Zion I fan. I've been listening to both of them for years. So with that in mind I'm letting you know in advance that this will be an unbiased review, and I still listened to this with an open ear.To be honest this project kind of came out of nowhere. There really wasn't any talk about it, they just randomly announced it a month or so ago. This could be good, but it could also hurt them. It could be good because there isn't enough time for the fans to build up an unreachable level of hype, but it could be bad because then it makes you wonder how quick was this put together? The album starts off really strong, and ends really strong. I love the intro and the outro and the whole theme it is meant to create. However I feel one major flaw of this album is it's production. Every artist matures and his/her style changes overtime, but I feel Amp Live's production style has changed a little too much. If you listen to Zion I's debut album "Mind Over Matter" you will hear that the production is a very clean and crisp Hip Hop sound. But his recent productions have been very sharp and... scattered. I think this is a reason why I found it hard to enjoy the last Zion I & The Grouch album "Heroes In The Healing Of A Nation" to its full potential, but that could also be due to the fact that CunninLynguists "Oneirology" came out the same day and that was beautiful. Now that's not to take away from "Heroes In The Healing..." because that is a great album, but it had the same production issues. For me the tracks where the production really kind of ruins it for me is "Stethoscope" and "Metronome". I found it extremely hard to enjoy these songs. But Eligh is able to pull through on the majority of the album and show just how versatile he can be over a variety of production styles. His lyricism is top notch on this album, and his flow, like always, is just crazy. Now I'm not trying to make it sound like this album is bad, because it's not. I just feel like Amp Live is starting to stray into a more electronic style of producing. Whereas I like that crisp Hip Hop boom-bap that was present on Eligh's last effort "Grey Crow". Standout Songs: "First Contact", "Beautiful Addiction (Feat. Grieves & Blake Hazard)", "Stop Running", & "What's In A Name" Overall Score: 8/10 - I feel to many fans aren't looking past the name and face on the cover and are just automatically giving it a perfect score. I feel that's wrong, and I might get attacked but I'm an honest listener of the artists I respect.

If you like your rhymes with some bite, then check this album out. Lots of hard and fast lyrics but not "showoffy", the lyrics fit and flow with the song. Very pleased with this album, I hate to admit that I never heard of these guys and bought it on a whim (something I don't do often) but I am glad I did. Totally original sound and I can recommend not only the album but ever song on it. Good Stuff. 100% Approved by CapeCodMediaKing aka WaterRabbit aka Joseph W., Cape Cod, MA, USA

One of Eligh's best albums. (in my opinion) just quality, non saturated hip hop. So far track 4-Destination Unknown featuring The Grouch is my favorite track. Support the underground!
