4.0 out of 5 stars Good November 27, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
Alright let me start this off by saying that I am a huge Living Legends and Zion I fan. I've been listening to both of them for years. So with that in mind I'm letting you know in advance that this will be an unbiased review, and I still listened to this with an open ear.

To be honest this project kind of came out of nowhere. There really wasn't any talk about it, they just randomly announced it a month or so ago. This could be good, but it could also hurt them. It could be good because there isn't enough time for the fans to build up an unreachable level of hype, but it could be bad because then it makes you wonder how quick was this put together?

The album starts off really strong, and ends really strong. I love the intro and the outro and the whole theme it is meant to create. However I feel one major flaw of this album is it's production. Every artist matures and his/her style changes overtime, but I feel Amp Live's production style has changed a little too much. If you listen to Zion I's debut album "Mind Over Matter" you will hear that the production is a very clean and crisp Hip Hop sound. But his recent productions have been very sharp and... scattered. I think this is a reason why I found it hard to enjoy the last Zion I & The Grouch album "Heroes In The Healing Of A Nation" to its full potential, but that could also be due to the fact that CunninLynguists "Oneirology" came out the same day and that was beautiful. Now that's not to take away from "Heroes In The Healing..." because that is a great album, but it had the same production issues.

For me the tracks where the production really kind of ruins it for me is "Stethoscope" and "Metronome". I found it extremely hard to enjoy these songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clean beats and the always amazing Eligh March 5, 2012
By Danish
Format:MP3 Music
Eligh has matured so much over the last few years I find it hard to keep up. He can take Amp Live's crazy tight beats and still flow like only Eligh can... something you have to hear to understand.

First off, DO NOT listen to this album on your horrible laptop/earbud speakers. The production on this LP can only be heard on some nice over-ears or home stereo. If you are a fan of Eligh you need to pick this up as you will not be disappointed. Both of these gentlemen go hard the whole time and only give you a few moments here and there to catch your breath.

I can't really comment on what my favorite tracks are as I really feel each listener will take something different away from the experience. To me, this is the true sign of a well-crafted LP.

Pick this up and be happy that these two are still out there creating beautiful music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very different May 15, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Completely different than what i expected, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. I am a fan of both the the Living Legends and Zion I so i was very excited for this collaboration between Eligh and Amp Live. The beats laid down by Amp Live are different to what i am used to hearing from him because they are more electronic, but Eligh, being the lyrical genius he is, makes it work. Good album, i do reccomend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little different but real solid March 5, 2012
By Dutch
Format:Audio CD
This is quite an interesting and kind of abstract album, which appeals and turns me away at the same. Upon first listen, I did not care for it but it slowly grows on you and you further appreciate the artistry. The production is solely handled by Amp Live, the production half of Zion I, delivering quite abstract beats with weird sounds and effects. Although there is only one producer, the album is definitely NOT static or repetitive. Eligh performs well, delivering relevant lyrics with a quick tongue and nice flow. The only downside is his sometimes robotic delivery. For the most part, the songs are relevant and topical, not just someone "going hard". A good listen if you can appreciate something abstract.

Fave tracks: Tattoo Song, Ms. Meteor, Stop Running.

Tempo of Eligh's rhyme over beats full of texture and surprises by Amp. Can't fail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard and Fast January 17, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you like your rhymes with some bite, then check this album out. Lots of hard and fast lyrics but not "showoffy", the lyrics fit and flow with the song. Very pleased with this album, I hate to admit that I never heard of these guys and bought it on a whim (something I don't do often) but I am glad I did. Totally original sound and I can recommend not only the album but ever song on it. Good Stuff. 100% Approved by CapeCodMediaKing aka WaterRabbit aka Joseph W., Cape Cod, MA, USA
