4.0 out of 5 stars Of special interest to longtime Mike Oldfield fans, October 11, 1999
This review is from: There & Back Again (Audio CD)
This CD showcases Maggie Reilly's silky, melancholy voice through several genres in the last two decades. Notably, "Every Time we Touch" is a much different arrangement than the previous album or single versions. Those familiar with her singing for Mike Oldfield will find her rendition of "To France" a fresh interpretation, more evocative of the Scottish highlands than Mike Oldfield's original arrangement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good but ..., December 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: There & Back Again (Audio CD)
There are nice tracks such as Echoes, Follow the midnight sun, the '98 version of Everytime we touch (much better in my opinion than the previous one).
Yet, this compilation is mostly worth buying for the songs that are great but hard to get hold of otherwise (Brought up to believe, Little Boys eyes, One little word).
What a pity though we also find the Oldfield 80ties hits as well - not that they are bad (they certainly aren't !), but why always associate Maggie Reilly with him as she did very well on her own (or with other people) afterwards .. And was the new version of To France REALLY necessary ??
