I guess it takes an Englishman on a Harley for me to experience the small towns of America I've never seen. I loved reading Tim Watson's book, it really me not only feel like I was there but made me want to go on my own road trip. I am a big fan of Donald Miller's Book "Through Painted Deserts" and this was such a similar book, but with a great dry English sense of Humor (notice the spelling of Humor Mr Watson) and loads of nuggets of facts I never knew about my own country.

Great read giving some history of towns heard about in history of the west, had hoped there may have been more motorbike content.

Good cultural reading if you want to experience someone new to cruising the highway scene on a motorcycle. This an easy reading book. When you are through, you will ask yourself if Anne is going to write a follow up book on what it was like following Tim.

Perhaps if you've never actually ridden a motorcycle or ventured across this great country on one, you might enjoy Watson's book. Having done both on a regular basis, I was looking forward to reading what I thought would be a great road adventure. Instead, you get the ramblings of a newbie who clearly doesn't know how to ride, as well as his observational criticisms of a country he's lived all of 5 years in. No, Mr. Watson the Blue Angels are not the US Air Force stunt team...and no, I don't think comparing the US/Mexico border fence to the Berlin wall is witty prose. If you are a real American biker, save your $20 and buy a new Harley t-shirt. I wish I had.
