It is concise and well-thought out. An enjoyable as well as instructional read.

If you are an intending author, Amazon's powerful search functions will lead you to other similar and complementary books to help build your skills as a writer and improve your knowledge of the publishing industry.

These aspects are both "must knows" if you are truly serious of reaching your goal as a published author.

If you are a writer or think you are a writer, this is a book you should have in your library. It helps jump start the creative processes and lets you know all that you need to know about getting started and what channels to follow.

I have read many books on writing this is the first that takes you from start to finish. If anyone has ever thought of writing any kind of book, I highly recommend this book. The author takes you lietrally from your first idea, to brainstorming, to editing, how to find help to write to edit, to publishing and even for anything in between. I read this book in two days and I am now re-reading it and taking notes as I go along because I have been thinking about writing for more than 20 years now and every time I tell someone my story, they always said "you should write a book" so now, I have the tools to do that. Thank you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who ever thought of writing. Great investment.

Wow! this was an outstanding book! after reading it a few times we imbarked on a new adventure writing our first book! After several months of brain storming we picked a subject and went to work! the result our book titled "A Broken America"

Dan's book was just full of valuable information, anybody that is thinking about trying thier hand at writing a book should really read this amazing book!

Excellent book with updated information on all aspects of writing and publishing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would rather write than drag through unnecessary filler.

Good resource, as are all Dan Poynter's books, if you're looking for a starting point for getting into self publishing. It covers the basics, but also moves on to information about collaborating with another writer or expert, which is the reason I was interested in the book. Offers some sample contracts and guidelines. Elaine Williams, author "A Journey Well Taken: Life After Loss."

Nice to read. More of a feel-good book than a how-to in my opinion, but I suppose it depends upon what you are looking for. There is definitely useful information in this book and it encourages you to write.

I like the data in this book and will definitely use it when I'm ready to write. It is useful.

Dan Poynter gives you so much terrific information and guidance about how to uncover the book inside you. There is no better place to get the guidance you need to write YOUR book!
