We have travelled all over the world and I can say, without a doubt, I wish we had one of the "We're Here" books for every place we went with our two children. If you are planning a family trip to Boston, New York, Rhode Island,or Washington, D.C., these books are a must! Perfect for parents to use when planning their visit to a new city/state and perfect for the kids to learn, get involved in and remember the fabulous highlights and history in a wonderfully, child-oriented tour guide.

I purchased a copy of the book for each of my four children on our family's recent trip into Boston. We had never been there and had a wonderful time. The book is Fantastic and it got us through all the major tourist sites! All of my kids loved it, from my ten year old down my three year old. There is something for each of them. The book provides things to spot at each site. There is a maze, a word search, and more, including pages of information and questions about what you are seeing, like the history and map of Paul Revere's ride or the penguins at the Boston Aquarium. The book is both educational AND FUN! The pictures and graphics are excellent. The books fit easily on my kids' laps and they wrote in them with crayons, markers and pens. Now, each of my kids has a book they look back on to remind them of our trip. I highly recommend the book. You can't go wrong! When the next city's book comes out, We're There!

I purchased this book through good reviews on Amazon. This was my first time to use this kind of book. My children likeed to read, challenge, search using this full color book while we were in Boston. I saw difference compare with going Philadelphia and Washington DC with the children. Children cannot enjoy educational travel as same as adults. They need some tool to enjoy, have interest, and learn in the trip. If you are not satisfied the questions in the book, you may add (or ask to your children) another question you made. I purchased three books for my 8, 10, 11 years old daughters. My 11 years daughter might feel the book is too easy, but still she liked to write down the answers. I like some question I did not usually ask to the children like how far from our home to Boston nor showing map. It reminds me I need another person's point of view to complete the question children need. I checked other children books in the information center in Boston. I prefer this book more than others. The reason is other books looked having full of historical detailed information, but boring to (young) children. (If your children are history lovers, you may prefer these educational books.) I purchased "We're There!" books through the Market Place. And the cost of the books are almost same as (or lower than) these educational books even include shipping. My additional advise is you should read the book in advance. My children some times skipped information in the book, then I needed to remind to them where they need to look at. Otherwise you passover the place you need to see. If you are still uncertain, try to get one book and review before your travel. You can judge by yourself. I was satisfied to use this book.

I ordered this based on other reviews, preparing for our family's getaway to Boston in a couple of weeks. The book arrived yesterday and my 7-year old daughter, who has never been to Boston and didn't really have any enthusiasm yet for going, flipped over this book! It's truly unique -- offering some planning and tips on what to see, a guide of what to look for at each place -- which makes it more fun for kids -- and a scrapbook-as-you go of what you did and saw. It also gives a very age-appropriate (and brief) history lesson, explaining some very rudimentary American history, which will be helpful on our visit to this historic city. Now my daughter is eager to walk the Freedom Trail and to visit the Old Granary Burying Grond, and she can start using this book the minute our train leaves Penn Station (NYC).

We recently took our four year-old granddaughter to the Paul Revere House.
Without this book, it would have been hard for us to make this relevant and fun for her. But she went back in an extra time so that she could get answers to all of the questions in the book. The background information was just right for a young child and now she wants to do more historical visits.

I highly recommend this book! I bought "We're There! Boston" before touring Boston with my son, and it was worth the price many times over. I was incredibly impressed by how educational and creative the book was, and my son had a blast with all of the games, puzzles and activities. The best part about it was that he had particular tasks he needed to complete---locating a monument, finding out the answer to a question, drawing a picture of what he saw---so he was engaged from the beginning. He especially loved playing "Boston Tour Bingo" while we were on the Boston Trolley, finding particular statues in the Boston Public Garden, and playing "I Spy" at the Paul Revere House. I thought that in addition to the games and puzzles, the historical information on Boston was presented in a very kid-friendly and engaging way. It's clear that an experienced teacher wrote this book. I loved "We're There" and I will certainly buy the other ones in the series when I visit those cities. I definitely recommend this book!

This was a great book to keep my daughter involved in our trip to Boston. She was excited to go to another location and look for more items in the book. We never heard a whine about having to visit another museum or historic location. I would definitely recommend this book to parents of elementary school age kids. It'll make your vacation less stressful and you might learn things along with your kids.

This was a terrific guide to Boston for kids 12 and under. I bought one for each child and they kept it with them for the whole trip. Made sight-seeing a treasure hunt!
