5.0 out of 5 stars In the hands of the wrong listening crowd?
I noticed that for the most part, people who've discredited this album are basing it on the fact that it's style is a bit different than the first one (that or they weren't one of the many overjoyed fans of the first release to begin with) or worse, because it doesn't sound like Enigma! Since when was it bad thing for a band NOT to sound like a clone of another band? If...

The Starseeds debut album, "Parallel Life" was a masterful example of the powers of simple elegance in production and has become a mainstay in my collection. In their follow-up album, more focus is placed on the vocalist and less on the cohesion and flow of the album as a whole. If you want to hear Enigma, whom I also like as well, I suggests you listen to them instead -or even check out one of their other clones (which there are hundreds of, trust me). Starseeds definitely have their own sound which is beautiful and mesmerizing. Yes - I also I like Parallel Life (my favorite cd of all time!) a lot more simply because it is more closely aligned with my taste. This album differs in that it is a bit more psychedelic, with less of the cosmic, newage touch of its precedessor, but that certaily doesn't make it an unworthy album by any means, in fact it is quite the opposite. The warm ambience of Parallel Life is still heavily present on tracks like Strange Planet, Gobi Underwater and Experimental Recyling Chair. Be Open and There is Enough for Everyone are more trippy and colourful tunes with very addictive beats. In fact, fans of spacey, ethereal trip-hop will most likely embrace this album with open arms. Not to mention Regina has an ummatched seductiveness to her voice, which ranges from cooing highs to sulty lows. The Starseeds are a highly original, underrated band, deserving of more credit, exposure, and musically appreciative listeners.

4.0 out of 5 stars score me the ages...., May 11, 2004

Don't worry, I gave the first CD 4 stars too! This sophmore effort is just as stellar (pun intended)! Pure-quality vocalist trip-hop combined with slow-motion breaks defines this duo.

The first disc is a planetarium-show soundtrack; this one is Black Box Recorder on Soma! Sensual, slippery, sweet & spacy. Seduce someone with music that scores the ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars mood enchancing, December 21, 2006
This review is from: There Is Enough for Everyone (Audio CD)
Have you just ever wanted to escape and totally be free even if it is just for an hour or so? Or having a few friends over just to relax shoot the breeze with no cares or worries and totally be yourselves? The Starseeds surely know how to capture the spirit/soul and takes it where it longs to be. Experimental Reclining Chair is a prime example of what I am expressing.
Let go and be free The starseeds will guide you.
Highly encourage getting this one!

I love this album. The Starseds provide something very atmospheric, very dreamy, and very mellow. It's the type of album you listen to while reading the lyric book to get a better feel of what the Starseeds are whispering.

I love their style, think the Gentle People completely stoned. Strange Planet was the premiere track for me, Starman, Be Open, There is enough for everyone, hell all the tracks are top notch. The most suprising thing for me where the tracks with no vocals (upstairs, experimental reclining chair, be free) . They are far from filler.

It's worth the price tag, Buy it while you can because there ISNT enough for everyone!

3.0 out of 5 stars a couple of gems, August 17, 2003
This review is from: There Is Enough for Everyone (Audio CD)
i agree in that this isn't as good as their debut - they're definitely going for a more pop/commecial sound with this record. especially on the opening track and track 6. still a zillion times better than pop/commercial music tho :)
there are still some really really good mellow tunes on here, track 8 for example is pure listening bliss, on par with anything off the first album. the final track is very nicely spaced too. chilled.

Too bad I've seen nothing new from these guys. Excelent cd, as good as their first, if not superior.

Is it heresy to say that the Starseeds' second cd is BETTER than their first?!

With songs like, "Be Open," "Experimental Reclining Chair," "Follow Me" and "Starman" (both the original AND the remix are JOYOUSLY KICKIN'!), the Starseeds effortlessy step out of the ambient-only box and enter true trip-hop territory with the likes of Lamb, Bowery Electric, Crustation, Crytstal Method and Hooverphonic.

If you like ANY part of ANY of the above-mentioned bands, snatch up "There Is Enough for Everyone"!

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing, September 5, 2002
This review is from: There Is Enough for Everyone (Audio CD)
Im not a major fan of The Starseeds but I decided to buy their second CD based on the fact I liked 4/5 track off 'Parellel Life'. The new Cd started well with a a commercial sounding song 'Starman', the second track is cool and I love the wah-wah guitars. After the following track the album goes downhill and I lost interest soon after that. I hope Starseeds release a better third album. Buy only if you want a few good tracks for your money.
