4.0 out of 5 stars "Iron Maiden's First 12 Years - Captured on Film!", December 16, 2003
By
Alex Shuris (Princeton, MA. (USA)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: From There to Eternity [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is probably the 2nd best IRON MAIDEN video compilation on the market (or has it been deleted?) besides 2003's "Visons of The Beast." The film chronicles Iron Maiden's early days with Paul Di'Anno on vocal duties (1978 - 1981), Bruce Dickinson's golden era (1982 - 1988), and the group's latter years (1990 - 1992)with guitarist, Janick Gers. The true stand-outs would have to be "Run to The Hills", "2 Minutes to Midnight", "Running Free (1985 Tour version)", "Wasted Years", "The Evil That Men Do", and a rare in concert version of "Infinite Dreams (my personal favorite)." The first two tracks or so, feature Maiden's original vocalist, Paul Di'Anno, and might not be recognizable to the casual fan. 1980's "Women in Uniform", and the live "Wrathchild (1981)" capture Maiden before they became the very popular heavy metal group they are today. Another good thing about this video, is that it overlooks the 1995 - 1998 era of Iron Maiden, which was by far their worst era. Eventhough there a few good tracks here and there in the late 1990's, nothing compares to this video of Bruce Dickinson classics and early Paul Di'Anno Maiden.
Up the Irons!!! I Sure Hope they release "Live Afer Death" on DVD soon in America, the import is ridicuously priced.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for all Iron Maiden fans!, February 23, 2004
This review is from: From There to Eternity [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video covers every music video Iron Maiden released from 1980 (Women In Uniform) to 1992 (From Here to Eternity). 1992 also marks the last year with singer and frontman, Bruce Dickinson, who left the band. Iron Maiden then went on to make two lackluster albums with singer Blaze Blayley. Anyways, the video gives you great classics such as "Run To The Hills", "The Number of the Beast", "The Trooper", "Aces High", "Wasted Years", and "The Evil That Men Do", along with some more underrated songs that are just as good as the classics like "Stranger In A Strange Land", "The Clairvoyant", and "Be Quick or Be Dead". It also includes more videos than the ones I already listed, and two live videos, in "Running Free", and "Infinite Dreams". I would highly reccomend this to any Iron Maiden fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Videos You Don't See on MTV, May 31, 2000
By
Theresa Gaffney (Astoria, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: From There to Eternity [VHS] (VHS Tape)
From the albums "Iron Maiden" to "Fear of the Dark," this tape has all the music videos from Iron Maiden that are worth seeing. Some of the videos are basically live footage, an example being "Tailgunner." The rest are the classics you used to see, like "Can I Play With Madness?" and "Holy Smoke" (personally one of my favorites because of it's humor), but you just don't see on MTV anymore. I suggest anyone interested in expanding their Maiden collection to get this. I also suggest those who want an introduction to Maiden to pick up "From Here to Eternity" just to sample some of their best tracks and show footage.

This video is just incredibly awesome, there isnt really a whole lot I can say except how amazing it is. Watching all the line ups change over the years and seeing how the videos improved with major greatness. Its just so much fun, any maiden fan must own this. You wont find it on mtv or any other music channell because this is too good to be played on it and is real music. Anyway all the videos are awesome as well as the songs. ANd watching them jam is just great, and getting to see all the different line ups with Dennis,Paul,Clive,Nicko,Adrian and Jannick as well as the others Bruce,Steve and dave. GO get this metal classic video tape now here or somewhere else, it is an absolute must have. UP THE IRONS!!!

This video is a great collectors item because it basically contains every video you can imagine. Especially the ones you thought you would never see on tv again. It really brings back memories of when I watched Headbangers Ball on MTV and waiting for an Iron Maiden video to come on. I definetely recommend anyone to purchase this video. Great for new Iron Maiden fans all the way to the dinosaurs like myself. UP THE IRONS!! Iron Maiden rules. P.S. I also bought this video from Amazon and was very reasonably priced. Best price on the net.

5.0 out of 5 stars 102,000 strong., November 11, 1999

A collection of the bands first ten years as video artists. Starts on the cheap and ends below the red. All of these videos have never been seen by a mass audience before. It's a miracle that they exist. Here is your chance to see the stuff which MTV probably aired during some God forsaken time. The best part is not that they are all together here, but that "The Clairvoyant" from the Donnington '88 gig, is here! Look at that massive crowd. It is still the biggest Donnington ever! And a most legendary concert! The Mother of All Maiden Concerts to be precise. Just seeing the fans makes me wish I was English. Damn this North American blodd. I could of been there! Well this package atones for a lot of ignorance on the part of the tv. Enjoy friends!

4.0 out of 5 stars A COLLECTION OF GREATNESS...., July 10, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: From There to Eternity [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A remarkable video collection featuring the evolution of the greatest heavy metal band to grace the face of the earth...Certainly a must-have for any maiden fan. Its amazing how much this band has changed over the years without deviating from its roots. I rediscovered Iron Maiden on CD sometime now and I realise how influential they were to me in my youth. Seeing them perform brings back many nostalgic moments when the true lineup ie Bruce et al were at their peak. This video collection will one day be worth a huge fortune as it epitomises metal in its truest and most powerful form. GET IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Watching them playeing their best songs!!!, June 4, 2000
This review is from: From There to Eternity [VHS] (VHS Tape)
If you've gotten "Best of the beast", this is the Video version, These are the complete video collection up to Fear of the dark. They are good, and it's funny to compare them to new ones. THis is a treasure you;ll always want to keep safe and in your heart, because Iron Maiden is not seen very often on MTV (They're too busy displaying Britney Spears and Hanson) so... whenever you want to see them, this is a good chance. Get it!!!
