Biography

The Sex Pistols were the archetypal punk band, and one of the most important and iconic groups in rock history. Punk-rock had already been suggested as a musical style by the likes of The Stooges, MC5 and the New York Dolls, but it took off in the mid-70s with Patti Smith, Ramones and The Sex Pistols. In particular, the Sex Pistols had a massive effect on British culture, epitomising punk in many… Read more in Amazon's Sex Pistols Store

There Is No Future

This is an excellent Cd. Almost studio quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good bootleg., October 18, 2001

I've never heard the original recording, but this remaster has--especially considering its ancient origins--very good sound quality. The instruments and vocals come through clearly and individually, and there is a minimum of background noise.

This is my first Pistols bootleg, so I can't say if it's better than any of the others available, but I've heard a lot of bootlegs by other bands, and I can say with certainty that you won't be disappointed by this recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sex Pistols CD there is, October 2, 2003

This review is from: There Is No Future (Audio CD)
This is the best Sex Pistols CD you can have. If you already have "Never Mind the Bollocks" or "The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle", fine, but this one tops them all. It sounds like the Sex Pistols, only the guy playing bass is an actual musician and not just some stupid freak who can't tell a bass from his own f***ing ass. The original "Glen Matlock" pistols sound much, much better than the "Sid Vicious" Pistols: every version of a song on "No Future" is faster, nastier, more energetic than the "Never Mind the Bollocks" equivalent (with the possible exception of Submission, which didn't have the S.O.S.-opening at this time). Both versions of Anarchy in the UK are excellent, and you will never want to listen to "Never Mind the Bollocks again" (OK, maybe you will just because of "Holidays in the sun" and "Bodies"...) once you hear the original "No Feelings" and "EMI".

They say Matlock was kicked out of the Pistols for being a Beatles fan. I'll take a Beatles fan who can play punk rock over a Beatles hater who can't.

God save the Queen
