3.0 out of 5 stars This is not a Caldecott Honor book!! December 18, 2009
Format:Hardcover
When reading the other reviews for this product, make sure you disregard the ones that say they are reviews from the Caldecott Honor winning version. THAT IS NOT THIS BOOK. This one is illustrated by Pam Adams. The Caldecott-winning one was illustrated by Simms Taback, and even though Amazon lists his name on this entry he has nothing to do with this book. Just so you know. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Not all these reviews refer to this ISBN March 27, 2003
Format:Board book
This die cut board book is wonderful and
fun with preschoolers. But most of the reviews and
comments on this ISBN refer to a different
edition (ISBN 0859537277, by Simms Taback ). Be sure
to note the difference.

1.0 out of 5 stars Description Does Not Match This Board Book Edition December 1, 2005
Format:Board book
The description here for this board book sounds fun. But the description does not match the board book at all.

Specifically, this board book:

-- Does not have humorous asides.

-- Does not name different types of birds.

-- Does not have a recipe for spider soup.

-- Does not have rhyming asides from spectating animals.

-- Lady does not have toothy grin.

-- Lady does not have bloodshot eyes.

-- Does not have a gallery of flies.

Clearly, this board book is NOT a board book edition of the book described. Instead, it's a completely different book. All it has in common with the book described is that both books are based on the old children's rhyme "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly."

And, this board book is somewhat dull and unimaginative compared to the book described. Unfortunately there does not appear to be an actual board book edition of the book described.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't read the Kindle edition February 24, 2011
By Becky B
Format:Kindle Edition
We bought this by accident when searching the Kindle store, but decided to keep it to read to a two-year-old visiting neice. You can barely read the print it is so dark. The page fills only a portion of the screen so the print is also tiny and we have the large Kindle DX. In Kindle form it is just a loser as a book. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK! April 9, 2002
By E. King
Format:Board book
I remember singing "There was an Old Lady..." all the time in preschool, so when I found out that there was a book of this song, I had to buy it for my baby daughter. Not only is the song fun to sing, but the book is fun to read as well with its vibrant colors and cartoony illustrations. This is an excellent sing along book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kid's Love It August 15, 2001
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Since recieving this book I read a minimum of 4 times a night. It is a hit with my 4 and 2 year old. My 4 year old reads it to his brother every morning. It was a favorite story when I was a kid and I'm glad my children are enjoying it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars I liked it! July 19, 2000
Format:Paperback
This is a terriffic book for use in the music classroom, and at home. As a book that can be either sung or read: it is versatile. It's large size and colorful illustrations draw kids attention. I have personally found it to be very effective with my kindergarten through third grade students. I highly reccommend it to anyone looking for a good book for younger kids that can be sung or read!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy for kindle August 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I thought this would be a great way for my students to practice the story again. I should have read all the reviews first. The images are of very poor quality and difficult to read. And not in color? I know the kindle is not there yet, but I figured it would be in color for the iPad.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hard to read.
This version is hard to read in its format. It also doesn't flow the way the nursery rhyme should. I am very unsatisfied.
