From the packaging, to the illustrations, this book is wonderful for both children and adults who collect and treasure beautiful books. The construction of book is very creative and interactive - from the slip cover that serves as the woman's coat, to the peekaboo eyes and the surprise that happens when you turn the last page of the book. The illustrations are extremely detailed and the illustrations for something as ordinary as a spider are very original and beautiful. I bought this to be a Christmas gift but now I will need to buy another copy because I just can't part with this.

Buy this book even if you don't have a kid. The illustrations are incredible and the book itself is genius! Looks cool just as a piece of art.

Very nicely produced version with a sad but understandable finish. The type and the book are smaller than I expected a little disappointing.

I got this book for my granddaughter, who is 4. I loved the book - but she hated it! She said it was scary and that I should put it away and never read it again. I will put it away for now and take it out when she is a bit older. I would definitely recommend it for older kids...I guess 4 is too young - at least for some.

For teachers who like to use songs and rhymes to teach beginning ELLs, this is an ideal version of this rhyme. The artwork is NOT babyish but appropriate for all ages.

From its clever "participating" cover to the story's "closing", Jeremy Holmes' is an intriguing and amusing edition of a very well-worn, much-loved, and oft-quoted poem! After all the entertaining and glorious and magical illustrations (not to mention the innovative cutouts and flip-ups and pop-outs!) that have filled the pages of "An Old Lady"'s history, it's delighting to find yet another edition with a twist in its presentation - and implications! This "quirky rendition" makes endless repeated readings and recitations easy on the adult who's asked to share it one more time!

This was purchased for my brother, a graphic designer who has a thing for typography. He thinks it's brilliant. Everyone enjoyed reading and interacting with this book. Maybe not for young children.

Well it's not heavy reading - Don't buy it for that reason. I have a passion for illustration, graphic design, vintage items and weird wonderful things - this book is all of that. For me this is a must have book, I knew that the first time I saw it online. Came across it again in a store and bought a copy for my dad.

I really liked the construction and the art that the artist has done on this book. It also has many fine detail on embossing..etc. I was hoping for more gadget from the compartments in the book, but that would probably drive the price up. I bought this as a gift to someone who has children that likes doing craft and that the parent is an artist themselves.
