5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for new and older christians alike!
I don't like to say this..but not many books keep me through the end. Partly because of my busy life and partly because there just isn't enough in the content to keep me interested. I am proud to say I finished Rick Joyner's "There were Two Trees in the Garden! I found that the author had so much spiritual insight that I just had to keep coming back for more! I have...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mystical? I don't see it.
I was surprised to see reviews calling this book mystical. Joyner is so clearly anti-mystical and pro-christianity. I assume the people who think that he is mystical are familiar with the kabballah/kemetic concepts of the Tree Of Life and think (completely in error) that Joyner is trying to merge those belief systems with Christianity. I wonder whether these critics have...

I have recommended this book to friends and relatives because I feel so many christians have not grasped some of the great truths of the Bible and what it takes to please God! I believe everyone can benefit from the wisdom imparted through reading this book. Scripture is quoted throughout the book in bold text with insights presented in easy to understand language. I believe when a reader finishes this book he will be enlightened. I will reread this book to use as a reminder that we cannot please God with our goodness it must come through a spiritual relationship with Him.

5.0 out of 5 stars The richness of the Word comes to life......, October 7, 1999

Mr. Joyner has again painted a masterpiece using the Word of God. The straight-forward approach and depth of God's word is so wonderfully innertwined. I had to read it, re-read it, and allow it to soak in because each morsel was meat to my spirit. Highly recommended to every believer willing to receive from the richness of God's Word.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE PERFECT EXPLANATION OF WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE., June 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: There Were Two Trees in the Garden (Paperback)
AFTER 20 YEARS IN THE CHURCH AND WONDERING HOW CHRISTIANS COULD ACT THE WAY THEY DO AND WHY CHURCHES SPLIT, I NOW UNDERSTAND HOW AND WHY THAT HAPPENS. THE BOOK ADDRESSED MANY ISSUES THAT WOULD AT BEST BE CONTROVERSIAL AS FAR AS ANY RELIGIOUS LEADER WOULD BE CONCERNED, BUT IT WENT PAST RELIGION INTO THE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND THE RIGHTS HE GIVES US AND THE CHOICES WE MAKE. THIS BOOK WAS THE BEGINNING OF MY EYES BEING OPENED TO THE SPIRITUAL REALM AND GOD'S ALLOWING US THE ABILITY TO DO WHAT WE WANT AND THE CONSEQUENCES THEREOF.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most enlightening book about the nature of man., January 27, 1997
By A Customer
Rick Joyner has been given such abundant revelation in the matter of the nature of man. He starts with the two trees in the garden and shows that same dichotomy throughout the Word of God. At every conflict, at every critical point in the history of God's dealings with man, we see the two trees present and the same choice before us.
Every point is backed with scripture. These concepts make it so much easier to understand the nature of the ongoing internal conflict of "walking in the spirit", and "walking in the flesh". With these ideas made plain "walking in the spirit" becomes that much easier; or at least that much more obvious which walk we are taking.
Joyner's heart for God over and above God's blessings is as present as ever. "We must worship the Lord of the Book, not the Book of the Lord".
If you want insight into the daily battle for holiness and fulfillment of God's destiny, DO NOT PASS THIS BOOK UP.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly important book, March 29, 2005

I agree with "ebertmovies"s statements about the book. I also agree that, when you read some of Joyner's "allegories", you can wonder about his mysticism, but whatever concerns I may have had about, say, The Final Quest, the Two Trees book put those to rest. Perhaps the most valuable contribution he makes to the Church, IMO, is his sharp, unrelenting focus on Jesus Christ, and his trying to get us to understand how we can be a christian, or be a church or ministry and almost completely leave Jesus christ out of it, making us worse than infidels. We really need any authors that are bringing us back to Jesus Christ, Who is Everything! Thank you, Rick Joyner!

I don't believe there is one other book to best explain Christianity. Whether you are just wondering about the Bible or walked with God your entire life, this book brings depth and simplicity to the core beliefs of the Bible in a way I have never seen before.
If you have never read a book by Rick Joyner this is the one to begin with, then don't miss "The Final Quest".

5.0 out of 5 stars Revelations, January 18, 2007

Occasionally you read a book that opens the door to your heart for an amazing revelation from God. This is one of those. The author begins by showing that there is just as much death in the knowledge of good as there is in the knowledge of evil. It sounds simplistic, but this book helped me shift my focus from trying harder to growing more in love with Jesus getting to know more of him. The change is amazing. I highly recommend the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Skeptical To Supporter, August 2, 2007
I have to admit that I was skeptical of Rick Joyner. I have visited Morningstar in Charlotte, NC several times and at times felt it was shallow and not biblically balanced. However, my views have changed. This is not to say that I don't disagree with Joyner or Morningstar International because I do but that seems to be part of being human. None of us have perfect knowledge (1 Corinthians 13:8-13).

Therefore, when I was given this book I at first read it with a skeptical eye. I was looking for error. The irony is that this is a good book. Joyner, contrary to some of the other views given, does not promote mystical Christianity at all in this book. In fact, I found that Joyner does a good job of wrestling with the Scriptures. The book's focus is on Jesus and Joyner wants the reader not to simply have a head knowledge of Jesus but a living, vital relationship with Jesus. If that is mysticism then count me in. Joyner attacks denominations and doctrines that divide but he balances this with an emphasis on loving Jesus and sharing unity in Him. He is not pushing for blind obedience without sound doctrine but he does desire for the Church to love each other more and that is a lesson we all need to hear and obey (John 13:34-35).

Overall this is a solid book. For those skeptical of Rick Joyner and his ministry I believe you will realise that Joyner is not as far out there as you might think. In fact, you might just become a supporter as I am.
