5.0 out of 5 stars I'd give it more stars if I could
This is an AMAZING CD...after listening to it a couple of times it gets better and better and you always want to hear it playing. I have seen them live-they are a great band to watch. Save it For the Judge is my favorite song, but it's hard to pick a second one because they are all good. This is one of the few CDs I listen to without skiping over a song or two.

3.0 out of 5 stars is this a side project of hot hot heat?
When I first heard this CD, I thought it was a side project or even a new release of HOT HOT HEAT but with louder guitars and less on the keyboards. Not bad at all, the sound is well recorded, clean and rough at the same time. Some of the chorus on some songs are catchy and sort of sing along approach. If you like HOT HOT HEAT with an attitude, go check it out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mixed variety, May 25, 2003

A great album. I guess it is classified as alternative rock, but such a narrow genre does not fit this set. It is a unique varied blend of all types of rock. Hearts for handlebars is a great track, as is save it for the judge.

The Divorce are absolutely amazing. They're the best rock band to come out of seattle in forever. They're stage energy is the best ever and they're songs are the kind that you can definatly listen to over and over again. They are one of my favorite bands and I've watched them get better and better over the years. The Divorce write amazing lyrics and the tunes are totally catchy and i couldn't praise them enough.I recommend anyone who wants to support local Seattle music or who just likes rock to totally get the album and love it.Also check them out live becuase they're even better.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit of pop and screaming is all you need, September 12, 2005

I've seen The Divorce several times (8 times to be exact)and these boys know how to entertain an audience. Their sound is a far cry from what the Seattle music scene was labeled as, grunge. The anthemic chorus line of Breaker Breaker makes me want to raise my fist in the air. One of my favorite tracks on the album is Samoa's Revenge, a hard rock guitar driven madness backed up by bassist Jimmy Kurran's infectious screaming. This debut album is a non-stop headbopping machine and I highly recommend it.

This is an amazing album. It may take a few listens to really begin to enjoy it. But once you do it will be HARD to take out of your CD player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank god for something new, May 23, 2003

The "the" in the band's name may lead you to have preconcieved notions about how this album will sound. Well you're wrong. While this band is clearly influenced by the sounds of Seattle (from Nirvana to newcomers Vendetta Red) and 1990's indie (Pavement springs to mind, the Divorce has an original sound which will force you to crank up the volume and leave this album on repeat for weeks...

I got this CD from my sister for christmas. I was skeptical at first, but then after i listenend to it for a while i fell in love. The bands music really sticks with you. Its an awesome CD to listen to when you wanna rock out, but its not super hardcore headbanger stuff. I love it, especially the lyrics because they are so rightous and original.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW, February 20, 2005

I just saw them live last night while they were opening for Vendetta Red and My God they were amazing. I had only heard of them when I saw them and I had never heard one of their songs. Perhaps that's why I have such a huge appreciation for them. They sound 10x better live, but they're great. Redcoats is by far my favorite, but they're all amazing. They're just fun and energetic in both their music and their live performance. A great album.

If you like Punk/Indie Rock then this is the album for you. I have seen the divorce in one of there earlier concerts at Easy Street Records in Seattle and saw them at the CD Release party and had to buy the CD because the music was great. The first time i saw them i bought there EP and now i bought this album becuase the Divorce Rock and you should really buy this CD. If you live in Seattle I suggest Seeing them at Bumbershoot in late August. This band is going to make it big and you should buy their premier CD.
