A very special CD...,

This serves as proof that Liv is just getting better with age and retrospect... the hallmark of this CD is the variety of styles and moods, yet each track is unmistakably Liv. The upbeat, even jaunty tracks juxtapose nicely with the ballads, the more traditional Liv Taylor fare juxtapose nicely with the surprises ("Step By Step" is a great example!). "There I'll Be" is an instant Liv classic, while "Best of Friends" will likely be many folks' favorite track. Smartly produced... full and resounding only where it needs to be and understated where appropriate. It's hard to believe that - Liv Taylor aficionado or not - there isn't something here for everyone to discover and enjoy. If the true brilliance of Liv is in his live solo performances, this gives an intriguing look into what he can also be with a full, supporting cast.

Especially Sweet,

Livingston Taylor's new "There You Are Again" CD is a strong combination of material & performance. My favorite track that makes me hit the repeat button is the upbeat soul-flavored "Yes" that bounces gleefully in the joys of love. "Step by Step" is a peppy soul-stirrer that makes you want shout "Hallelujah!" "My Perfect Christmas Day" is another very sweet tune that puts the heart of the holidays on the love we share with each other rather than on the amount of loot we can amass. Another favorite of mine is the haunting "Tuesday's Lullaby" with a distinctive melody. Carly Simon joins Liv on guest vocals on the opener "Best of Friends." While I am consistently satisfied by Livingston's recorded output, judging from the way it's jammed my changer, this one is especially sweet! Enjoy!

It took me a while to buy this CD, but I got it cheaply here. I was very surprised how much Liv sounds like his brother James, even after comparing them over the last 30 years. This is like having a "lost" JT album, with great songs, wonderful instrumentation and stellar guests. A must-have for your collection.

Livingston Taylor has a way of looking at life that is so refreshing. It's a happy album with tender moments. Listen and take a break from the world. If you ever get a chance to see Livingston in concert make sure he signs your CD. He says they sound even better that way!

The Best of His Entire Career,
This review is from: There You Are Again (Audio CD)
40 years in the business and this guy just keeps getting better! Finally, a high end album with top notch players and production to match his talents. The pop tunes are great but my favorites are the two Gospel tunes that literally rock the house, no matter what your faith.
He's got his brother James Taylor, sister Kate Taylor, Carly Simon, Vince Gill and a slew of the top session players in New York on this album and the quality shows. A treasure.

It sounds like Livingston wants to sound like his brother. Though his voice is similar, he doesn't have the same talent. If you like James Taylor's music.... then buy it. Don't waste your money on Livingston.
