I love reading collections of work, anthologies, collaborative works, etc. I think my favorite part is the variety each book offers, if you dont like one story, the odds are you will like another. With Therefore I Am it was great because I ended up liking many of the stories which has of course the sci fi element, but some also had a strong fantasy feel as well which was an awesome blend. I haven't researched the authors to see what other work they've done, but I can say that they seem experienced with the genre and the stories were engaging and gripping. It didn't have an amateur feel to the wording and came off very smooth.

This collection of ten superbly crafted sci-fi shorts has something for everyone. It doesn't matter if you like science fiction or not - these are fantastic stories which, like all good writing, are really about extraordinary characters in extraordinary circumstances.

For sci-fi aficionados, all the pre-requisite struggles are explored - alternative realms, worlds beyond tomorrow, machines, epic journeys, technology and alien races. The one constant is humanity itself.

There is a large variety of writing styles, but the quality remains consistent as do the imaginative plots (as a fan of Vonnegut, I particularly enjoyed "Open Letter to Non-Robotic Scientists" - as well as "Inchoate" and the superbly titled "Nevermind the Bollocks").

Therefore I Am is a fantastic collection - every story is a winner.

Sci-Fi lends itself particularly well to the short story form, and each of the ten stories in this anthology are skillfully crafted, highly imaginative, "unbelievable but believable" tales.

As in any collection, some stories will appeal to certain readers more than others. But what makes this collection of new Sci-Fi so intriguing is that all the stories - however different - are loosely connected by their underlying themes and concerns that are so relevant to humanity at the beginning of the 21st century. The overall impact is highly thought-provoking.

With ten stories, it would be difficult to review each one. But while I enjoyed them all, I was particularly taken with Annie Bellet's contribution. Not enough women are represented in Sci-Fi, and Ms. Bellet is a writer that we'll hopefully see a lot more of.

Every story was immediately engaging and highly readable. "Therefore I Am" is an excellent showcase for current Sci-Fi talent.
