4.0 out of 5 stars The Producers material is great, December 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: There's No Business Like Show Business! (Audio CD)
It's lovely to hear the songs and some dialogue from the Producers movie. But that's about the only part that really jumps off this cd. I assumed that Ethel Merman would be singing, 'There's No Business Like Show Business' but I was wrong. And Zero Mostel does not sing the '...On the Way to the Forum'. I guess he was in the movie but not the stage musical. Some guy I don't recognize at all sings both of those songs from both of those musicals. Without those original singer, Ethel and Zero, they're just ordinary. Next time I buy a cd of songs from musicals I'll double check that the big stars are singing them.
