More About the Author

A.G. Cascone is actually TWO authors, and they are, in fact, a sister act -- Annette Cascone (right) and Gina Cascone (left) write together as A.G. Cascone. And as writers, most days they even share the same brain. That's funny really, since as children they found it difficult to share anything at all.

Gina Cascone will admit to being the older of the two "twisted sisters", but she's says Annette is more neurotic. Annette will admit to being more neurotic, but explains that her psychoses come from growing up with Gina. Their youngest sister, Elise, just knows they are both nuts. Like many siblings, their childhood was fraught with rivalries and fond memories. Life experiences have given them tremendous talents, fabulous storytelling abilities, and a remarkable sense of humor.

Gina started writing first. Her first novel, PAGAN BABIES and Other Catholic Memories was published in hardcover in 1983 by St. Martin's Press, and then again by Washington Square Press in 2004. After PAGAN BABIES, Gina published MOTHER'S LITTLE HELPER. A wife and mother learns lessons of life and love while questioning the affects of the corporate structure on today's family. Her latest work, LIFE AL DENTE: Laughter and Love in an Italian American Family, is a loving reminiscence of growing up Italian, and all that means.

Annette lived in New York City supporting herself as a songwriter while attending the Lee Strasburg Institute's Actor's Studio. In 1986, Annette's song "LOVE ME RIGHT" hit the charts for Island Records' artist Millie Scott.

Annette and Gina began working together in 1987. They worked on book proposals, and television and movie scripts. Their first published work was a parody on Cliff's Notes study guides called "JUMP OFF THE CLIFF NOTES". If you were ever been forced to read a long boring book that was written decades before your parents or even great-grandparents were born, you'll love this parody on study guides and the "classics".

In 1988, their first film was produced. "MIRROR, MIRROR" starring Karen Black, Yvonne DeCarlo, and Rainbow Harvest. The story was solid enough to send "MIRROR, MIRROR" to cable. It had a strong video release, and it inspired a sequel, "MIRROR, MIRROR 2: Raven Dance", starring Roddy McDowell, and Sally Kellerman.

Returning to books, Annette and Gina began writing thrillers for young adults and middle graders. "IN A CROOKED LITTLE HOUSE" was published in 1994 to glowing reviews. In December of 1995, Avon published "IF HE HOLLERS". A string of your adult thrillers, known as "Deadtime Stories" were the result of these first two successful collaborations. There are currently 17 Deadtime Stories.

This review is from: There's No Place Like Home (Mass Market Paperback)
Suspense, action, excitement...this can all be found in the novel, There's No Place Like Home, by A.G. Cascone. This realistic fictional book will leave you amazed and full of suspense, guaranteed. The suspense is at its fullest point when Baby D, an unknown, nameless child that was separated from her birth mother at age three, relocates her mother. At first, everything seems normal, just a nice mother/daughter conversation. But then, when C.J., the long lost mother, pushes her "baby" away, Baby D decides to pull a knife to her throat. Poor C.J. doesn't know what to do, until her friend Ttrudy comes to the rescue. Trudy tries to calm Baby D down while her friend, Mallory, calls the police. Right before Baby D slices her "mommy's" throat, the police arrive and take Baby D away from her "mommy", this time for good! The general plot was mainly about an unknown child, Baby D, who was separated from her mother at birth, and is desparately trying to find her real mom, killing anyone that stands in her way. In my opinion, the writer's usage of words is very explanatory, and very well accompanies the idea of suspense and action that really gets the reader interested. It has great description, too! Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great, action-packed novel.
