5.0 out of 5 stars Banned from the UK, but back in force, August 27, 2003
This review is from: There's No Power Without (Audio CD)
It's been 10 Years since CONFLICT released any new material and about the same amount of time they've been banned the UK after one of their gigs ended in mass rioting. This is CONFLICT, none of the poncy punk stuff here, pure hardcore, metal edged politicaly fueled music with some of the most powerful lyrics i've heard for years. Straight from the get go, you know CONFLICT arent pissing about, with heavy and fast riffs, amazing drumming along with barked and shouted lyrics makes this album very powerful indeed. The addition of Sarah Taylor adds a whole new edge to conflict, with anger expressed in a female voice making the songs mean jsut that little bit more. Stand out tracks are THERES NO POWER, JUST JUSTIFY, NOW YOU'VE PUT YOU'RE FOOT IN IT and ST PAULS TO SEATTLE.
Heavier than their earlier recordings, but far more advanced lyricly, it might take a while for you to get you're head around the change in sound CONFLICT have chosen, but once you have, the appreciation begins of one of the most underrated, repressed and powerful bands of all time. This really is a must for any political music loving punk, from Protest to resistance, CONFLICT are back, and are bound to turn a few heads where people will listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars You need to HEAR this band, September 16, 2007
This review is from: There's No Power Without (Audio CD)
Always opinionated, always loud and always great. Love them, hate them, they are Conflict, I have loved this band since I first heard them 20 years ago. One of the few bands who always stick to their guns, and never compromise. Listen to any of their recordings and enjoy. There is no power without control.

5.0 out of 5 stars Listen and Learn, January 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: There's No Power Without (Audio CD)
The presentation of this powerful material is incredible: the music is loud, fast and heavy; the lyrics brutally biting and unapologetic; the booklet - which includes a wealth of photographs for each song - is a classic.

The 10 tracks flow as if being heard live, with the ska-influened beat of "The Hidden Hand" and poetic "War" a brief interlude from the sonic attack, which kicks back in with a vengeance on "Now You've Put Your Foot in It." "Dodi Did'er Doggy Style" smashes the cleansed myth, while the spoken word conclusion to "An Option" brings a quiet intensity to the harsh reality on any battlefield.

It was about a decade between studio albums when this CD was released in July 2003. NWBTCW, indeed.
