4.0 out of 5 stars this is for tops alright, May 7, 2010
This review is from: There's Room at the Top (Hardcover)
An exercise in secret wish fulfillment, George & Matthew Rekers come out on being TOPS in your field.
Now in the age of electronics, where associations can be made with a push of a button, and increasingly services are outsourced or rented, boy do we need top guidance like this, or we will wind up bottoms up!
It will not take long strokes of imagination to guess that managerial excellence is contained in this slim volume, but it is packed with muscle, and a clear-blue-eyed facing of problems. Dimensions of the book are about eight inches, pages uncut, but the tight firm editing leaves you wanting more.
One caveat though, and why I give this volume four rather than five stars...there is absolutely no chapter in here on "containing information" or "press relations in a disaster," or other pressing needs that top managers often face. Without a chapter like that, you'll end up face-down in a pillow full of tears, massaged every which way by unseen forces.
An endorsement such as this: "I recommend it as required reading for everyone aspiring and committed to taking the steps necessary to reach 'The Top.'" -- James A. Dismore, Chairman and CEO, Ultimate Support Systems, Inc., Former Vice President, Wal-Mart says it all.
