I bought this book for my grandson and he loved it so much that I had to buy him the other two in the series. I also read it and was amazed how much I liked a book written for pre-teens. The imagination the author has is wonderful and there seems to be a message that it's okay to be different from the norm - something that is too seldom addressed in today's world.

The Star-Fighters of Murphy Street Series is quite enjoyable! Adventureous with a good message about finding something special in yourself even if you think you're different. Read them before giving to some of my favorite kids. Will buy more and be on my gift list for pre-teens and young teens.

As a Third grade teacher I previewed all three of The Star-fighters of Murphy Street books. I enjoyed them so much I gave the first book to each child in my class as a reward for filling the reading chart. The morning I gave them the book they started reading them immediately and were so involved they did not want to stop to go to the final Awards assembly. I was confident that I was giving them an exciting book that boys or girls would enjoy and learn more of how God uses us in the circumstances we are in.

There's a Spaceship in My Tree!: Episode I (Star-Fighters of Murphy Street) by Robert West is about a boy whose family moves from California to the Midwest and the adjustments he has to make. Everything is so different and he prays each night and wishes on a falling star that he can just go back "home." As he meets a couple kids who also live on Murphy Street, he discovers that things are more different than he thought. In fact, they're strange--including the spaceship-shaped treehouse.

West adds a new twist to Christian Sci-fi that I hadn't seen much, if at all. It's a fun middle-grade page-turner that I think both boys and girls will enjoy.

Really, this book should automatically make you buy the other two n the series immediately because, quite frankly, you WANT to know what happens in the next books! Santa brought this book this Christmas and all of us just couldn't put it down. It's a great adventure for ages 8-12, how a spaceship "comes to life" when virtuous kids climb aboard. Oh, the spaceship just so happens to be in a tree, powered by a huge spiderweb. I've never heard of this author before but I certainly hope he has more adventures up his sleeve, as does the rest of the third grade class here in Smalltown, Ohio. Highly, highly recommend!
