5.0 out of 5 stars 10
As a family therapist, I enjoy recommending this bedtime story for both parents and children wanting to understand why family members, who feel unnoticed or unappreciated, can become so "large" in their behavior. Light, amusing and endearing. Thank you Jack Kent. I regret "Dragon" being out of print.

3.0 out of 5 stars truth or imagination?
Though this book has been around a while, I only recently discovered it at a book store. I got it for my child's school library (endorsed by librarian). My 6 1/2 yr old 1st grade daughter liked it. This age group still adores fantasy, but is beginning to be able to separate truth from fiction. Children delight in the boy in this story being right about the dragon...

5.0 out of 5 stars My sons favorite book!, November 11, 2001

I read this story to my son (now in grad. school) countless times, gave the book to others who loved it. Have been unable to find it for some years so when I searched for that title on a whim I was excited to find I can now start sending it as a gift again.
Thanks for having it available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acknowlege the dragon, April 17, 2000
This is a book my daughter loved. But there's a message for adults in this little story as well. Acknowlege the dragon(s) in your life, and they will become managable. Ignore (deny) them, and they will become as big as a house.

Jack Kent is so wonderful, and my son loves this book. I think the "moral" of the story is over his head (at 2 years old), but the story is cute and entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars I use this book in therapy session with adults, too, May 9, 2010

Problems grow when they are ignored and everyone wants to be heard are the most basic messages of this great little book. I've used it many times with individual clients of all ages. When I lost my copy I was very glad I could order another. I was afraid it had disappeared.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some old-skool allegory, January 18, 2010

Remember back in the day when children's books weren't so literal? (Now we are stuck with issue books: "Daddy has Prostate Cancer!" "The I Hate Broccoli Book!" "Divorce Sure Can Hurt!"). This is one of those books that has some moral instruction to pass along, but dresses it in imaginative clothes. I'm fairly certain that small children won't be thinking about denial or repression when they read it, but something about ignoring the obvious might stick and be available to them later in life. Meanwhile, thank god, it's an amusing book on its own terms.

This was an outstanding book to read! It was all about
denial which was couched in the cutest children's book
story.

This entertaining book gives the adult reader the chance to have a little fun while sharing a lesson about listening to kids. Good for any age, and for almost any situation we might ignore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for all ages!, December 30, 2010

This is a darling book with whimsical illustrations to be enjoyed by all ages. My daughter loved it as a child, and now her son gets to enjoy it as well. Also gave one to a young girl who fancies dragons; she was just as enchanted with it as my grandson.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Childhood Favorite, October 16, 2010
I owned this book as a young child and now my young child owns this book. The way the parents manage to ignore the obvious dragon reminds me of the "Somebody Else's Problem field" space bistro invisibility cloaking system from Life, the Universe and Everything. This is a great book and a fun read.
