Excellent pad, September 30, 2010
Purchased our first camping pad after sleeping on Air matteress...was really worried that we would not like it or would wake up hurting from sleeping on the ground....WOW...was I ever wrong.
We woke up refreshed, back was not stiff, and ready to spend the day hiking and biking.
When you sleep on the air mattress, the air gets cold which makes your back tight, with the Therma Rest camp mat, it added extra warmth and was a very comfortable nights sleep.
We have since ordered our second camp mat for my husband and are putting the air matteress away.
Thanks Therma Rest and thanks Amazon for making this such a great experience.

Thermarest .... worth the cost, November 10, 2010
I used a smaller model of these mats on a 4 day grand canyon hike a few years ago. It was too small for me but still worked great. I decided I needed a bigger model and cant be happier with it.
These mats are light weight, durable and comfortable. I use this when camping and once a year a small group of us go on an excursion of sorts. One year was the Grand Canyon, north rim to south rim, hike over 4 days, the next was 8 days in the Canadian boundary waters canoeing and camping.
I am 6'6" and around 265lbs so I need something that will support me allow me to sleep comfortably. The Thermarest mats do this without a hitch.
PROS - Light weight, durable, comfortable, portable and easy to clean.
Cons - none
I would recommend this to anyone who is a serious outdoors person.

comfy enough; bit pricey; check size carefully, July 18, 2011
This review is from: Therm-A-Rest Basecamp (Sports)
Just back from our first trip with these. They work well, inflate & deflate easily, and were comfy enough. They were a bit pricey; this week (alas, too late for us!) a similar-looking product by ALPS is on sale on Amazon for half the price (maybe cheaper even when it's not on sale -- somehow missed it when I was shopping). Also, check the dimensions before deciding what size you want. Since everyone in my family is on the scrawny side, it didn't occur to me to consider size large, but the regular is very narrow (20") -- had to make an effort to stay on it when rolling over. I hear there's a separate kit available that converts the sleeping pad to a chair -- may check that out.
