This is a great light weight luxury item for backpackers. I stuff my fleece jacket in it for a comfy pillow. Great product.

I thought the fleece lining would provide improved comfort.replace the deteriorated standard stuff sack I have used as a pillow for years. The idea of the product is good. The workmanship on this product is excellent. It is made to be as light as possible. However, in the pursuit of lightness the thin light nylon shell material also happens to be unusually loud and crinkly and, thus, ill suited to be a pillow. If the material were quieter I would be glad to use this product, but I have returned mine.

first: everyone is different.

I personally tried about 4 different types of camp pillows (from inflatables to full on stuffed pillows) and they were all either uncomfortable or very bulky. This was the only one I was able to find in an 8L size, which when stuffed with my down jacket (size L) made a pillow that was the perfect loft and comfortableness for me. The fabric inner grey fabric is very comfortable to sleep directly on and when turned inside out so the sil-nylon is on the outside provides some decent water resistance also. It came in at 1.8 ounces on my scale, considering I'm usually bringing a down or insulating later anyways this also was an amazing weight savings compared to other pillows.

I bought a small (8L) and put a jacket and some baselayers into it at night. It stays really warm and is very comfortable. When used as a stuff sack it compresses a bit allowing you to really jam it tight. The Cordura crinkled loudly when I first handled it but had no problems with any noise while I slept. This is seriously something you shouldn't deny yourself if an 8L sack is something you need.

I am going backpacking for 3 weeks and need to take the lightest gear possible. Lugging around a 1lb pillow that also takes up space is not an option and neither is carrying a pillow that is so small I can't keep my head on it while I sleep. I wasn't sure if this solution would work but so far it has. The type of clothes you put in it and the amount will determine how soft, stiff, round, flat, or noisy your pillow is. I like the ability to custom fit my pillow. However the one down side is that the time I won't be sleeping the bag will be turned inside out to protect the soft pillow part from dirt but that also means I will be carrying around dirty clothes in the pillow part. There is really no way around this unless you place your dirty clothes in pastil bag before storing int he bag for the day.

I absolutely love this sack/pillow and never leave the house without it. Its a pillow and a sack. Its an all around awesome pillow, ive used it during flights, commuting, and everywhere. I dont know where I havent used it. I wear very soft and light clothing so I can fit about 3 shirts, 3 pairs of board shorts, 2 pairs of under armor underwear, and 3 pairs of socks in the sack.

I keep it in my backpack and whenever I feel like i need a pillow I pull it out. The best part about the pillow is that it also doubles as a sack so I put my gym clothes in it and always have a few days worth of clothing which is perfect for couch surfing and stuff

When it arrived and I looked at it, I didn't think it would be much better than using a standard stuff sack filled with clothing as a pillow but it was. It stayed in place better under my head and even without the softest clothing stuffed into it (rain jacket and other clothes) it was comfortable. I'd suggest buying the larger size like I did because any smaller wouldn't make for a good pillow.

So let's start with the good things; it's exactly as-described. Lightweight, tough-feeling materials and good stitching. I just think its functionality as a pillow would be improved with non-cylindrical design, so only 4 stars.

Worked really well for backpacking. I took the large and my girlfriend too the small. The softness depends on what you stuff them with. A puffy is a great start, and line that with some clothes or something else. Wasn't too noisy/crinkly, and the large was a good size for me as I'm a side sleeper and need something I can get my arm under.

Great lightweight solution for backpackers wanting a larger pillow and especially for those that sleep on their side. The fleece lining when turned outward is a lot more comfortable pillow surface than a standard nylon stuff sack. Fleece turned inside, it makes a robust stuff sack while on the trail.
