This product feels great to have on and does not carry any yucky smells after heating in the microwave. It stays warm for only about 20 minutes, but that seems worth it to me at this price. I like the seams throughout--the rice and other filling agents can't get all bunched up in one place. I do find it to be a bit too long than works for my neck and simply tying the strings together is not enough to have it fit snugly around my neck, so--though it looks a bit crazy--I just rubber band the extra and it fits fine. Also, it says it's for neck and shoulders, but that's just not so. Great for the neck, but doesn't even touch the shoulders. Worth it if all you need is for it to cover your neck or you have something else that's great for the shoulder area which might be a good idea to switch to anyway once this one cools down.

I get headaches which are located in the lower head/neck/shoulders area. I often need massage or hot showers to help, but sometimes i just need something to soothe this tension while i am doing something else. I had some other brand before (can't recall the name) which had cost $50++. It was very good too, of white color, but far more expensive. i had purchased it from a specialized store. That old item had a velcro closure which fell off after a few months (then the brand sticker fell off too!!). i find the Thermalon closure more practical, lasting, because you can also use it around your waist without having to hold it, if you have pain in the lower back or stomack.You can ALSO use it around your ankle easily if you have pain by rolling it (my husband did this). Other than that, i found that the heat inside lasts quite a long time. i put it for 2 min on high temp. in the microwave and it lasts about 50 minutes. Finally, the beige color is an excellent idea because with regular use, white ones tend to get discolorated. Last but not least, the price is AWESOME. DEFINITELY recommended.

I was using those disposable heat wraps for my sore shoulders and neck but my environmental and financial conscience drove me to search out a better option. Locally, Seattle metropolitan area, I could only find re-heatable wraps that were scented with lavendar (which I'm deathly allergic to). This looked to be the perfect solution and IT IS. It is easy to heat (and over-heat so be careful) and it does provide a nice moist heat. It isn't too heavy but heavy enough to stay put on my shoulders. I haven't tried the cooling option but am sure if the necessity arrises it will do the job.

I've only heated this neck wrap in the microwave, yet find it to work so much better than my other neck wrap. My older neck wrap smells funny when heated and the beads inside can all roll down to one end or the other - which can be nice if you want the beads concentrated only in one area. Yet, I like this wrap because the beads are stitched in so that the beads are even across the wrap.

What I really like about this neck and shoulder wrap is that I can tie the ends together - which makes it so versatile. I can wrap it around my upper neck and by my ears (by tying it up above my forehead) or I can tie it around my neck and let the extra wide part hand down my back. The one drawback is that my neck is smaller so the wrap doesn't hold tight against my neck when I tie it in front of my neck; yet it doesn't cause any problems. I've also learned how to drape it over my shoulders and pull the strings around to the back to tie; thus, the heat goes deep into the tops of my shoulders. This is hard to explain but just know that the being able to tie the wrap really makes it be able to be put in more specific areas.

The wrap stays nice and warm for quite awhile. I do really need to be careful of the heating time though - an extra 30 seconds can make a huge difference. When I heat up the wrap in the microwave, it see the moisture that is left behind - so I know it is moist heat. However, I really don't know if that is a benefit or not. It certainly hasn't hurt anything, though.

This is a very convenient heat pad. I do,however think it doesn't retain heat for any length of time

This product was great for the first 10 uses but then wore down and had a hole burnt into it while in the microwave. It was not in the microwave for more than a minute and burnt a whole then all the little white balls fell, out everywhere. To make a long story short this product does not hold up to the heat use and I would not buy another one again.

I was very disappointed with this product. The little materials inside the wrap were falling out within three days! My wife put it in the microwave for only the third or fourth time, and when she attempted to pull it out, the little materials started dumping out into the microwave. Not put together very well if it is falling apart after only three days!

This brand makes the best microwave heat wrap on the market. If you "cook" it too long, it does not melt like its competitor does and it stays warmer, longer. Take it from me, this is the best brand on the market. Extremely durable.

I have bought several similar products in the past and have always been disappointed for one reason or another. One primary gripe has been the smell when heated in the microwave. So I was rather jaded when I bought this product thinking it wasn't going to work, but was pleasantly surprised. It heats evenly in my microwave. It doesn't smell when heated. The heat lasts for about 20 minutes or so. The heat feels very good on my neck, as I had neurosurgery several months ago. I actually think this product is going to help me recoop from my surgery. I can't really think of any negatives. I almost never take time to rate a product on Amazon, but felt compelled to rate this product. IT REALLY DOES WORK WELL.

Liked in the beginning. I was very careful to only put in microwave for one and half minutes. The fifth time I did it it just opened pouring small yellow beads everywhere. Not worth the money at all.
