I recently replaced my Zalman with this guy and what a huge difference it makes. While my Zalman did all that was asked of it and kept my i7-2700k temps in check. However, once I tried overclocking it failed miserably. Enter the TS140. At stock/turbo boosts speeds it runs several degrees cooler at idle and load than the Zalman did... mid 30s-high 40s for the Zalman vs the TS140 hovering from high 20s-mid 40s. However I have been able to overclock to 4.7-5.0 relatively stable with temps around 75 degrees at max load. I personally do not feel comfortable with my set up going that high 24/7 but if you were to add a second fan and had good case airflow you should easily be able to achieve a high stable overclock with sub 70 degree temps. For the price it is a great value when compared to the Noctua DH-14 which is usually $20 more. They are in the same ballpark temp and noise level wise. There are actually some benchmarks out there that show the TS140 with the same set up beating out or matching the DH-14.

The one drawback to this cooler is the height, so make sure you measure and verify that it will fit. But cool and quiet, definitely recommended.

This cooler is an amazing value. It's price:performance ratio is excellent - most coolers that perform on par with it are $20+ more. It doesn't have any real competition at the price it's sold at, especially if you factor in how quiet it is.

I'm gonna get the negatives out of the way in the beginning.

* This thing is massively tall for a CPU cooler. You need to make sure it'll fit in your case. You need at least 172mm of clearance. It fit great in my Cooler Master HAF 912 case, but anything much smaller than that would be a tight fit.
* The thermal paste that comes with this thing is a nightmare to clean up. This isn't a big deal if you only need to seat this thing once and never touch it again, but most enthusiasts tinker. I tinker. It's a lot harder to clean up than my Cooler Master ThermalFusion 400, which I will continue to use in the future. The ThermalFusion also got moderately better temps in my experience, but they was well within the margin for error on paste application.
* You need to tighten the screws all the way. I made the mistake of snugging them instead of maxing them out by hand and I got really bad temps initially. After tightening everything and applying an appropriate (conservative!) amount of paste, I got much better temps with this than I did with my Hyper 212 Evo.
* It's heavy. Initially, I was impressed by the heft of this thing. Then I kinda worried about my motherboard's ability to handle the stress. It's fine, though - the back plate is broad and if you secure it properly you won't have any issues. Just for the love of God don't drop your computer or you'll have a back plate-sized hole in your motherboard where your CPU socket used to be. HEAVY.
