The big selling point for this heat sink is its relatively narrow profile allowing for RAM heat sinks with silly profiles. This it seems to do well while providing decent cooling, however you'll need to get in/out of your case a few times at first to really get the fan speed adjusted right unless you can find a crack to dangle the controller out of. The higher RPM settings are hilariously loud and at those settings this thing can move a frightening volume of air.

Installation for LGA1150 boards is simple enough although the plastic support plate installed on the rear of the motherboard is a bit worrisome given the huge amount of force required to secure the bracket that holds the sink itself onto the whole affair - I mean more in the long-term sense like three years down the road when the bracket has been exposed to countless on/off heat cycles and physical stress. As for securing the actual sink an extra millimeter or two of threading on those final screws would've been a nice ease for installation to reduce risk of slipping and fatally stabbing the poor motherboard and ensuring the sink surface is evenly contacted with the CPU thermal cover or whatever AMD/Intel is calling it these days. Seriously the tension level on the retention clip is just insane - And yes, I made sure I didn't have it upside down.

The fan retention mechanism is simple, smart, and absolutely fantastic. More heat sink manufacturers should use something similar where possible. Just a freaking shame it can't be plugged right into the motherboard for speed management.

If you don't want it to make noise keep it in the middle setting. I have an i7 4770k haswell, which usually run pretty hot, and this thing keeps it at 30c all when idle, and around 50c when playing games. It looks nice it's not hard to install, but it does make a some noise. It's totally worth it. If you want a quite fan, go water cooled.

Built one from the ground up based on a I7-4960X Extreme CPU and ASUS X79 Deluxe, 16 GB Kingston HyperX 2400 MHz memory and a fast Samsung 250GB SSD in Catching II mode with a WD 2TB Green HD and it is awesome

My son found this one for me. He is an expert in refrigeration and air conditioning and Test Chambers. He did an exhaustive study of CPU coolers before we settled on this one. He is using one in his new computer, his brother is using one in his new computer and I am using one in mine.

The mounting is well thought out and it cools our CPUs perfectly even when overclocking.

Installation is simple and the packaging is excellent.

This is one awesome cooler. Not only did it lower my temps, it also allows me to have my high end RAM that has extended heatsinks. Not a lot of CPU Coolers allow for that.

Pros:
-Priced reasonably
-Adequate cooling
-Included thermal paste is effective
-Designed with RAM clearance in mind
-Works with any modern AMD or Intel processor

Cons:
-Included fans do not support PWM
