I wanted to get a notebook cooler due to the long hours I keep my notebook on. I figure why not get a cooling fan for it. It is nice to have, it's really small. When I opened up the box I'm like where is it? I mean it was a big surprise. Even though they have the specs listed telling you how big it is. I wanted to get a notebook cooler due to the long hours I keep my notebook on. I figure why not get a cooling fan for it. It is nice to have, it's really small. As for the product, it's fair. I'd recommend to people who have small notebooks. I have a 15 inch widescreen notebook that weighs in 8 pounds. It's helping it alright but from experience to a perfect fit, it'd look/fit better on a smaller notebook.

It helps it stay moderate. Cooler then before, fans a little noisey. Even though it has the 4 usb ports. It's said that if you use two or more, the makers of this product recommend using the adapter, which does come with the product.

But Since I do carry a notebook backpack which is already jammed with a remote control, notebook adapter, notebook cooler (this product), wireless mouse, notebook web cam, it's pretty much packed and I rather not have another adapter to carry. Since I have many of those things, I figure using the USBs would help.

Anyways I'd give it a 3 overall.

Main reason, even though it has a standing support it easily broke (tilting stand), so I was really mad about that. Because it was so much easier to type with the tilting stand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dual Fan Cooling Pad, February 19, 2007
This review is from: Thermaltake CL-O0004 Dual Fan Cooling Pad for 8" to 15" Notebooks (Personal Computers)
The only problem noted todate, is that it has recently become a little more noiser than what it was when I first purchased. I can live with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful notebook cooler, November 14, 2007
This review is from: Thermaltake CL-O0004 Dual Fan Cooling Pad for 8" to 15" Notebooks (Personal Computers)
I purchased this cooler about a year ago to help cool my laptop. It has generally worked well to help keep it cool. It does blow the air up onto the bottom of the laptop, rather than drawing hot air away. On my Dell Inspiron, I've had to slide the laptop so it is over the right fan allowing it to blow through the cooling vent underneath the laptop.

It has been getting rather noisy over the last couple of months, and the sound can be quite annoying at times. I never had any problems using the USB ports on the side, and it slides closed easily to fit into my laptop bag. I don't think it would work well on 17" laptops.

I have had good luck also using compressed air to blow out accumulated dust from the CPU cooler, which leads to an immediate 5-10 degree drop in CPU temps.

I want to try the passive xpad cooler and see if that works better, by providing more space underneath the laptop for cooling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with this product, July 18, 2007

I'd shopped for plenty of notebook cooling pads before ordering this product online. I figured that since it's made by Thermaltake, it'll be good. Wrong. The fans aren't strong enough to cool my dual core notebook, and they make a lot of noise. I tried using this in class one day and the person sitting in front of me made me turn the fans off because they were too loud. Also, the tilting stand, which is made of plastic, broke right away. There goes my money.

The only thing I like about this product is the 4-USB ports.
