5.0 out of 5 stars Best Power Supply I have owned
Thermaltake Purepower has always been known for their quality. I purchased this one to replace a older one due to upgrade of system and adding a PCIe card. The dual 12v+ rails and design sold me on this Power Supply. So far it has exceeded my expectations; Quiet and plenty of power. 1.0 out of 5 stars Weapon on system destruction!
This power supply took out 4 hard drives and a motherboard before I realized it was the culprit. I finally got a power supply tester, just to prove it. When loaded with several drives, the power supply over-volts the -12v line. Attempting a warranty replacement, but I'll probably eBay the thing and avoid Thermaltake from here out.

This review is from: Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W V2.0 with 12cm Fan Power Supply (Personal Computers)
Thermaltake Purepower has always been known for their quality. I purchased this one to replace a older one due to upgrade of system and adding a PCIe card. The dual 12v+ rails and design sold me on this Power Supply. So far it has exceeded my expectations; Quiet and plenty of power. The black goes with my case and the 12cm large cooling fan does the job. Since installing this power supply my case temp has decreased 5 degrees. I would highly recommend this power supply to anyone looking for a dual 12v rail and power for todays pc components. Currently running 3 hard drives, 2 opticle drives, card reader, floppy, 4 120mm cooling fans, one 250cm side case fan, duo core processor and a 512mb PCIe graphics card. This power supply handles it well.

5.0 out of 5 stars well worth the money., July 12, 2008
This review is from: Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W V2.0 with 12cm Fan Power Supply (Personal Computers)
Needed a 500W P/S for my new 8800GT video card in HP Pavilion media PC. It fitted perfectly and took very little time to install. Had to wiggle out the old P/S first but nonetheless all went fine. This is a very quiet P/S and appears to be well made. I highly recommend this to people looking to upgrade their P/S. No need to pay extra money for overblown wattage settings for home computing.

5.0 out of 5 stars great power supply, October 11, 2009

This review is from: Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W V2.0 with 12cm Fan Power Supply (Personal Computers)
I brought this PSU to replace an older model which was still working. I am trying to keep an old P4 3.0 Prescott alive. I made some minor upgrades like a new mother board, new chip, fan and heat sink. Nothing fancy I just use my computer for every day use so I keep it stock I am happy with the Thermaltake this unit has one large fan it is very quiet. the older model had two fans, made a little more noise. Plenty of plugs more that I need but that's OK all the wires are wrapped with a protective sleeve has the 24 pin plug plus the 4 pin plug for the motherboard unlike the previous PSU that had a 20 pin plug I purchased an adapter for that one. If this unit holds up as well as the older one it will be around for quite some time.

It's running GREAT!

I upgraded my graphics card and needed a new power supply to go with it, checked this out and its working perfectly! The installation was incredibly easy, It's dimensions were exactly the same as my old 250w power supply so it fit perfectly into position. Took about 15 minutes total to remove old PSU and install the new unit. The Fan is incredibly silent, I got the power I need, all is well and I am content!!

A good price, and good performance. No problems with installation or operation. Two notable features are the near-silent cooling fan, and the neat and tidy wrapping of cables in a type of plastic-braided loom. You will have plenty of cable length for drives and other devices.

The only negative is a lack of a fan-monitor connector to the motherboard. This connection allows some motherboards to monitor your power supply's fan and take action (such as sound an alarm, or even shut down your PC) if it should fail or run too slow. Not too big of a deal but would have been nice to have.

Overall it looks and sounds as good as it works!

I needed to replace a burned out power supply on an older computer. So, I looked for a more powerful unit and with modular capability. I got both and for a really good price. I highly recommend this power supply. So far, it has been working like a champ.

The price was great at the time of purchase, it was pretty simple to install. The psu came with a lot of wires including molex, and sata power. No problems with the PSU since purchase date.
