Well built, but I was dissappointed that the Armor+LCS do not directly support Intel i7 out of the box. If you intend to use this with Intel i7 and any motherboard with LGA1366(socket B) socket, you will need to purchase *** 1 *** A242331 LGA 1366 upgrade kits. The included metal H-clips for both the bottom side of the motherboard and the CPU water block itself are not for Intel i7/LGA1366.Not a big deal but it should have been noted that the case is intended for last gen. motherboard/CPU.

It is always a pleasure to work with a product that is designed with a great deal of insight into the needs of its users and which is manufactured to exacting standards. This case is large. It's heavy, but features like the pull-out motherboard shelf, the quick release 3.5 and 5.25 inch bays, and the lack of sharp edges make it a genuine pleasure to use. Cards are similarly held in by quick release levers, and the goal of a toolless case is tantalizingly close. The case is laid out very logically with respect to compartments, and the ventilation is good, with plenty of room to buy cable. However, be very careful that you check to see that your particular CPU is supported by the liquid cooling system. My new Intel i7 is not, so I had to take the excellently built LCS out, and it sits on my shelf. Further, be certain you really want or need an LCS, because you have to change the coolant every six months or so, just like you have to change the coolant in your car. If you're using this to play games on it, then that's one thing, but if you are using it to also store critical data, then I think there's a risk of a coolant spill every time you change the fluid. The case, even without being able to use the LCS is a joy to own. The manual pictures are too small and the English in the manual is not great, but once you "get" the innovations in this design, you won't have to rely on them too much.

Just build a new gaming rig and decided to go for liquid cooling. This case made it so easy! comes with everything you need to liquid cool your CPU and has enough capacity to add multiple components as well.

This is a great case! I just build a system in the past two weeks and I am very pleased with this case. The only complaint I have about the case is that it has a little sliding panel on top over the radiator intake fan. If you close this panel your CPU temp goes up, open it and allow outside air to be drawn in and your temps go down. It seems they would have designed the sliding panel with a vent on it so it can draw in cooler outside air in even with the panel closed. With that said it is still a great case, extremely well built, tooless and this thing weighs a ton! You have a lot of upgrade options as there are three addition places to put 120mm or 140mm fans and even once place I discovered that is "unadvertised" at the top of the case is a round hole it looks like it would support a 140mm fan, allowing you to suck hot air out of the case and through the honeycomb grate on top. This case does NOT come with a power supply and if you plan to use a socket 1366 i7, you will need to buy an upgrade kit to hold the waterblock on. It consists of two brackets one for the back of the motherboard and one that goes over the waterblock. A note about the side fan: This fan is noisy! I have been told it is noisy as it is straining to pull in cool air through vents that are too small. I was advised to A: either cut out the vent and replace it with a 200mm grill, or mount the fan a little further away from the vent. Both options require you to make modifications to your case, one permanent the other not. Another minor complaint: The power LED lead that connects to the motherboard is two wires, but it is in a three pin connector. Why? I have no idea. My EVGA x58 4-way SLI motherboard has only two pins for the power LED. I had to remove the wires and place them side by side in the connector to plug it into the motherboard. No big deal really but it would be an annoyance if you didn't know how. I ordered this case on a Monday and had the case shipped 2nd day for free (Thanks Amazon Prime). The case arrived a day early as it only came from about 75 miles from my home. This case is extremely well packed.

Disappointed with included PSU,

I was very excited until the included Corsair TX850W Power Supply died a month after the system was built.850 was more then enough power for the system and I was using a APC Battery Back up when the power supply just shut down. Had the whole system checked at my local shop and luckily the PSU was the only dead unit. |
