As soon as I put this on the floor a cat claimed it! The cover is a royal blue background and with dark blue leopard like spots, the color is somewhat vivid, but relatively tasteful. Cat hair doesn't seem to stick to it like it does to fleece material. The cushion is nice, not too firm but firm enough that it won't fall apart. The power management keeps it almost room temperature until the cat lays on it and then it heats up to cat body temperature. I keep my house relatively cool in the winter and this is an economically sound way to keep the cats warm and happy. My cats love it. It is really 16" in diameter, only big enough for one cat at a time.

I love this item so much, I stay off the couch. My people think I'm being good. Hah! They just offered me a better deal. They can have their old couch.

I purchased this for my elderly cat who suffers from arthritis, thinking the heat would help him. While I have no direct knowledge of his arthritis status, he clearly loves the bed. When he doesn't want to sleep he will often just sit on it. And he definitely will not share it with other cats, so if you're a multiple cat household you will need multiple cat mats. Good points about this product: shape allows me to put it right on my bed where kitty always sleeps anyway, unlike some of the hut-shaped models sold which could be isolating, considering how long my cat spends on his heated bed daily and nightly. I also like the removable cover for washing. The only thing about this product that I could see as a bad point, depending on the size of your cat, is that it is a little small. My kitty is small so for him it's nice and snug, but I wonder if it would be big enough for a medium or large size cat. Other than that, this is a great product and I wish I had tried it sooner.

I bought this based upon the two positive reviews and the knowledge that cats do like to sit on warm things - and I wanted to keep him off my laptop! However, I was very disappointed with this. First, it doesn't really get warm. Even after laying on it for over half an hour, I couldn't detect any extra warmth under my cat. Perhaps small cats do not generate enough heat for the "reflection" of heat to build? Second, this has very little cushion so it's not that comfortable without the heat to make it appealing. My cat will lay on it, but he doesn't seek it out. In fact, he sits for a few minutes and then tries to climb back on the laptop! I did better with a folded blanket.

Overall, this is extremely overpriced and doesn't work as advertised. Also, the color as pictured (which looked orange to me) is actually a very pale pink. There are other, better options for cat beds. And I really regret not buying Animal Planet 23 x 23 x 6-Inch Pet Bed, Brown, Pack of 2 which is cheaper and comes with two beds!

I bought this for my elderly cat since he's been laying on the heat vent and has lost a lot of weight. I put it next to the heat vent and within a couple days he started using it. Now he sleeps there all the time! Yesterday my 45 lb. dog had taken it over...it's a bit small for her so I may need to see if they make a larger one for the dog!

Works as described, keeps a very mild warmth while no weight is present, and gets quite hot (maybe too hot) when the cat is laying on it. It is a bit small for our larger cat, so I might recommend a larger one for 14+ pound cats. The cord is a decent length and zips up inside the mat if you want.

My cat spends half the day on this thing. I've had it for two months now, and it's working great.

I use this for a stray cat that stays in my enclosed porch for shelter. The cat loves it! I put it on a timer so it goes on and off instead of leaving it on 24 hours. The cat sure knows when it's on because she cuddles on it and enjoys the warmth. Even when it's not on, it is perfect for her to sleep on. It must feel very comfy!

Heidi the cat is older and doesn't ask for much in life. Just regular meals, some lovin, and a nice warm bed. When I set this bed up for Heidi, she ignored it for 2 days. Then I added some catnip and she jumped right in. Once she discovered how warm and cozy it is she moved right in. Now she rarely leaves her bed except for some chow or lovin. I put a towel over it so that it makes for easy cleaing. This bed is awesome!

Appears to be a safe way to provide a heated space for an older cat.
She loves it.
