The Thermo Scientific F48010 Thermolyne Benchtop Muffle Furnace has an A1 single-setpoint digital controller, 5.8 L (0.2 cubic foot) heating area capacity, and a temperature range of 100 to 1,200 degrees C for general laboratory use. Two open-coil heating elements on the furnace sides provide fast and even heating, with minimal temperature gradient. Thermal-efficient ceramic insulation reduces heat loss and enhances energy efficiency. A 0.95 cm (0.38") diameter port at the rear of the furnace allows an independent temperature monitoring device to check internal temperature measurements. The Thermo Scientific F48010 requires a 240V and 50/60 Hz electrical outlet and fuse (not included). The A1 single-setpoint digital controller sets a single temperature that the furnace will heat to and hold, until it is turned off. Safety features include a door safety switch which turns off the heating elements when the door is opened, and sensor break protection, which turns power off in the event of thermocouple failure. The furnace controller also includes a self-tuning feature. Self-tuning changes the control parameters to ensure temperature accuracy for a particular material type (load) and setpoint. A built-in vent port removes moisture and contaminants, which extends the life of the heating elements and the furnace. The power cord and SH480X1 ceramic shelf are included.
