5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect container for a hot lunch!
I have been packing two of these containers with soup, spaghetti, stew, baked beans or other hot foods five times a week for the past year, and I'm happy to report that this product really works. The food stays piping hot, the seals are leakproof, and the jars and lids are durable and don't retain odors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thermos soup container with spoon
I got this product as I hoped it would keep my soup nice and hot...well it's ok.
I will start with the pros...
holds a good amount of soup, has not leaked in a week of use and built in spoon is really handy

so holding heat...it's ok, after about 5 hours soup is not bad, but not hot either

here are my test that i ran with numbers...

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect container for a hot lunch!, February 19, 2009
This review is from: Thermos 2340STP6 Jar with Folding Spoon (Kitchen)
I have been packing two of these containers with soup, spaghetti, stew, baked beans or other hot foods five times a week for the past year, and I'm happy to report that this product really works. The food stays piping hot, the seals are leakproof, and the jars and lids are durable and don't retain odors.

The rubbery gaskets that seal the food jars do have grooves where food or broth can lodge, so they can (and should) be removed for hand washing. Unfortunately, the Thermos company doesn't mention this anywhere on the packaging or in the enclosed literature, so you'll have to trust me on this. Please take the gaskets off for cleaning or your thermos will start to smell bad.

The Norpro Stainless Steel Wide-Mouth Funnel makes the task of filling the food jars with messy, splashy food MUCH easier. I recommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great thermos., April 5, 2008
We have owned a lot of different thermos-type products but they were too big, too under-insulated or too fragile (glass). We gave up for a while and the kids had to go back to cold lunches...until I discovered this product. It is wonderful! We are back to packing soup and chili once more.I love the slim design and its ability to retain heat. The hidden spoon is an added bonus. I just bought another one.

I have not used a thermos since I was a child but decided I wanted to give one a try. I hemmed and hawed over buying one but after a lot of comparison and thought, I purchased this one. I LOVE it! The spoon is super handy, it is leak proof, and has kept my food very hot after 5-6 hours. I have warmed the thermos up with hot water before filling it in the morning and it is great. By the time I get to eating it, the food on top is cooler but I just shake it up and all is good. I really love this thing---more than is probably rational. If you are on the fence, buy it! You won't regret it!

so holding heat...it's ok, after about 5 hours soup is not bad, but not hot either

here are my test that i ran with numbers
filled with 180 degree water and sat on my counter, after 5 hours it dropped to 130 with it being about 68 in my house. This wasn't bad, so if your in a office and take soup it should work pretty good
filled with 180 degree water again and sat it on my back porch, temp was around 38 to 40 and in 6 hours it dropped to 100 degrees. I work outside all day so i can't always keep it warm. I also have to say that i don't have it full right to the top as a little more soup/fluid in there might hold onto heat a little longer.

In all I can deal with it as I'm not a real picky eater, just trying to save a few bucks and watch what I eat

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps it HOT, fits in my Igloo, May 13, 2009

Thermos TherMax IS Maximum Insulation! This thermos will keep your hot food nice and hot for hours. I tested hot foods for 3 hours and will push it and see how hot my food will stay after 7 hours. When I get the chance I will also try cold food and see if it will live up to the claim.

Overall great product. This Thermo holds just enough food. Comes with a nice fold-able metal spoon in a screw-on compartment. Nice simple design.

My only small complaint, the container might be a little too tall so you may need to dive in to spoon up some food.

Thermos makes some of the most effective products on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly, March 7, 2009

This Thermos works really well. I picked this one over the other thermoses because of the spoon that's stored in the lid which I use all the time. It keeps food warm for a long time if you heat it up enough and warm the thermos up with hot water before you put the food in. I heat my food for the Thermos around 8 in the morning, and sometimes I don't get the chance to eat it until around 6, and the food is still mildly warm. Everything's easy to clean too. I intend to get another one soon for my fiance!

I have been searching for something to take hot food to work. This Thermos fits the bill perfectly. Compact and light enough to put in Lunch bag, and also roomy enough inside for a nice serving of hot food. Spoon is a nice addition as well in hidden compartment. Excellent choice for that extra hot item you want to include in your lunch. Buy this you will love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good!!, May 31, 2010

My daughter takes this thermo early in the morning to school, and she states the food states very warm and tasty by lunch time. Easy to handle, does not leak. We bought this one along with the 16 ounce Thermo Element, as as with that one, the only negative is that the mouth could be wider. But both thermos have performed as advertised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Piping Hot Potato Soup, March 11, 2010
By
This morning I put some hot water in my Thermos for about 10-mins to pre-heat it. When done pre-heating I poured in some potato soup around 8:30 AM. Now, at 12:30 PM I'm enjoying my still piping hot Potato Soup. Awesome! No dorking around and jockeying for position at the company microwave. No waiting for my food to heat up. Ready to eat :)
