Does the Job,

This definately keeps my coffee hot, which is what is really important.
However, within a week the Stainless Steel cover of the cup seperated from the plastic body. The design of the plastic on the top and bottom that covers the body of the thermos leaves space where water can collect from washing. So when I pour I normally get water dripping from the base. Kind of disgusting. I would not buy another of these.

Leaks after 2 uses.,

Got this for Christmas. I even read the directions and followed them to a T as far as heating up with warm tap water for 10 min before but it still started to leak from the base after 2 uses. Horribly disappointing. On top of that, Thermos LLC said I must pay for the shipping in order to send it in for an exchange.
On the positive side, it looks nice and keeps stuff warm except for all that coffee leaking out on my desk! I would not recommend thermos brand to anyone based on my experience.

Great vacuum bottle with a catch,
By Frugalgene (California) - See all my reviews

Pros: Keeps liquids hot for a long time. Very clever stopper design. Nice non-slip handle. Rubberized protective cladding. Good quality stainless steel. Great value.
Cons: Stopper seal eventually fails and can't be replaced. Bottom line: The Rock vacuum bottle by Thermos is definitely worth the few extra bucks it will cost you. It is even worth the occasional new stopper you'll need to buy. I'll get right to the one and only negative. The stopper seal. After about a year of daily use The rubber/plastic gasket on the stopper begins to deform and no longer seal. Once that happens, the excellent performance of this vacuum bottle is compromised. The bad news is that Thermos does not sell the seal separately. The good news is that the entire stopper is available from Thermos, and only cost about $3.50 plus shipping ($6). I suggest the first time you order one, you get about four back up stoppers to save on shipping. Performance of my bottle is simply unsurpassed by any vacuum bottle I've ever owned or used. I can make coffee the night before and have steaming hot coffee all the next day (this, of course, until the stopper seal fails). The stainless steel appears to be a heavy gauge, and is nicely brushed. I've tested the stainless steel for quality (using a magnet)and it is the real thing with no rust, discoloration, or other deterioration after years and years of use. The nicely designed handle wraps around the top and bottom of the bottle forming a cladding that protects the metal from damage. Mine still looks almost new after many years of daily use. BTW, I use mine with a Melitta #6 cone and filter as my daily coffee maker. I love the stopper design. It is a one piece stopper which is slotted down the sides of the threading. By turning the stopper about a half turn until one of two arrows on the top of the stopper points forward, you can pour with perfect control into a cup without removing the stopper (which helps keep the liquid inside hot). It's one of those rare designs that just simply works, and works well. The only other problem was the cup that screws on the top. The plastic inside the cup separated from the stainless steel shell. I glued it back together with some polyurethane glue, and have not had any more problem. All rubber/plastic seals eventually fail. So, I can't fault Thermos on the design or quality of the stopper seal. There may be a good reason why Thermos does not offer replacement seals. The stopper seal, a 50 cent item, sure appears to me as though it could easily be replaced if available. Instead, Thermos wants you to buy the entire stopper and toss the old one. Why Thermos? Why?

The title really says it all...I brewed 8 cups worth of coffee and albeit the product does a great job at keeping it warm all through the day. I dare say I could find an equally low quality build for much cheaper!! I only wish the person that gifted this to me had given me the receipt as well so I could return it. This item was not bought through Amazon.

So far, 27 hours.,
This review is from: Thermos 2510RLT2P The Rock Steel Bottle 1.1 Qt (Kitchen)
I bought this for myself, since I go to the mountains a lot and enjoy a hot drink while there. As a test, yesterday I filled the container with mini ice cubs at 12:33 in the afternoon. I have checked it just now, 26 hours later, and there is one tablespoon of water in the bottom of the container, and every cube is still solid and indpendent. Not stuck together! This is awesome. I am going to the Sierras tomorrow, so will put it to the test for hot beverages at that time.

I bought this travel Thermos for long cross-country driving. I put coffee into it in the morning and it was still steaming hot later that evening and it was still warm enough to drink the following morning. I feel this Thermos works very well and is a nice rugged, quiet design with no leaks.

I bought this for a friend because he had seen mine and asked where I had found it. He liked the fact that the handle was solid and not one that "clanged." So I bought it for him for boss's day.
