When my husband's beloved Nissan leakproof mug broke (after 4 years), I set about the laborious task of finding a replacement. We would have bought the Nissan again, but husband wanted no handle this time. We settled on this model because it is leakproof, an important feature for coffee drinkers on the go. It is also fairly easy to clean, but on that front, here's my gripe: the two silicon rings that wrap around the lid quickly become stained brown by coffee and emit an old coffee odor. I've soaked the rings in soap, baking soda, vinegar, but I can't get rid of the smell. It doesn't seem to affect the taste of the coffee much, though. The chamber is easy to clean with a good brush, but you will need another cleaning tool to get coffee residue from the gap created where metal meets plastic. All in all a good mug. Holds lots of coffee, keeps it hot and doesn't drip. Recommended.
