Finally the Perfect Water Bottle I Can't Live Without!

Some have asked about insulation. Sadly this is not very insulating. Ice added will melt at about the same rate as it would in a glass of liquid. The speed of this obviously changes based on the ambient temperature you're in. This means you're dealing with all the condensation on the bottle, so I seldom bother with ice. I've started crocheting bottle covers for these which definitely helps with that. As for hot liquids, I've never tried this, as I use the bottle exclusively for water. I don't imagine it will do well.

As someone mentioned in the comments though, they make an insulated version of the same kind of bottle, which I also have. I got it specifically because of the hot Georgia summers (I don't mind room temp water, but draw the line at hot - bleh). Thermos Vacuum Insulated 18-Ounce Stainless-Steel Hydration Bottle It has all the things I love about this bottle I reviewed (spout, comfort, no spills, etc) and works as advertised. Some downers are that it only holds 18oz, vs the 24oz of this bottle and it doesn't have a loop at the top (for me this means I can't hook the bottle on a finger while carrying something else in the same hand, or hook it to something with a carabiner). If you need insulation though (hot or cold), it's the one to choose.

Back to the bottle at hand... As for washing, seeing as I only use it for water, a quick hand wash with warm soapy water and bottle brush and it's all good. I've washed it in the dishwasher several times (main bottle in bottom tray and lid in the top) and it came out perfectly every time. finally a bottle for clean people

I purchased two of these bottles for my husband and I. We really felt guilty throwing away about 6 water bottles a day in home so we wanted to switch to refillable bottles. We have purchased bottles before that smell or that are hard to clean. I hate having bottles that the spout is exposed to the world's elements and germs. I know it sounds crazy but I just think it's gross. This bottle is a dream come true. It has a push button to open the top that safely secures your spout. I always just throw it in my gym bag and it never leaks. I also hate squirting water into my mouth when I'm very thirsty and I love that this has a large enough spout that I can actually drink from. It's so easy to clean and it's dishwasher safe. I use it daily so I hand wash it. It has a clip that I've used to clip it to the side of the kid's backpacks. It's very light and not heavy at all.
It's bpa free so we're not ingesting disgusting chemicals. It fits into the cupholder in my car too.
This is a dream come true bottle.

Best water bottle I've found

I bought this bottle about a year ago. I am someone who definitely does research before investing in something -- even as simple as a water bottle. This one has pretty much all I am looking for and for a pretty good price here on Amazon. It holds a good amount of water and has a great cover with a lid that completely covers the top with a click. For extra security, there's also a little latch to secure it closed. It also has a foldable hole to allow you to latch it to a bag or something when on the go and it stays out of the way when not in use.

I love the fact that the lid covers the entire top, because I'm a germ-phobe and think that when the top is completely covered when not in use there's less chances I'm putting my mouth on something dirty. :) The push button opening makes it really simple to open up with 1 hand, though you will need both to close it back. It also seems less "clunky" than an aluminum or other metal bottle to me (while being BPA free!). I thought the little "meter" water counter would be useful, but honestly, I hardly ever use it. Kind of gimmicky.

As this is almost all plastic, and especially with the rubber grommet inside the lid, I don't recommend using in the dishwasher. I hand wash it using a bottle cleaner, and it's easy to keep clean.

Excellent Bottle!

I absolutely love this water bottle! It was designed very well so you never need to worry about dirt getting into your water or on the mouth piece. It is very durable as well as I have dropped it from 6 feet and it was full and didn't crack or anything. Another great product made by Thermos!

Fantastic Bottle, But ..

I love this water bottle, and it is, by far, the best I've owned. There is one problem with it though. There is a small rubber disc that inserts into the cap, that makes the bottle water tight and leak proof, when the cap is closed. This rubber disc insert (or stopper), is very easy to lose. It usually falls out when the bottle is washed for example. If you lose it, the bottle is useless, and may as well be thrown in the trash. I think it is a BIG design flaw. If anyone knows where to get replacements, I'd love to know.

Why did I think this would leak?

How would they be able to sell this it leaked? It is a great water bottle. I was hesitant at first, with the space age looking technology, but it has to be the most convenient bottle yet. I've always used the screw tops, for simplicity and leak proof nature, but decided to spring for something new when my kleen kanteen screw top aluminum started leaking. I would recommend this to anyone who drinks a lot of water throughout the day.
