Thermos Nissan 1-Pint Bottle with Pop-Up Straw

It doesn't do what I wanted. It does something else even better:

Didn't know about the progress made in recent years at keeping cold, cold and hot, hot. Now I'm totally converted to thermal everything since I purchased a carafe to use as a tea pot and a thermal travel mug for drinking that tea. All day, I have a fresh cuppa, like the first cup in the morning.

I decided to add a piece to the set -- something to keep the milk cold on the counter. I selected the Nissan 1-pint bottle with straw.

As it turned out, this isn't suitable for use with dairy products (or carbonated drinks). But on the day the package arrived from Amazon, I was laid flat with a back problem. This bottle arrived just in time.

It's comfortable to hold, doesn't release condensation onto the tabletop, and it's easy to sip while supine without spilling a drop. I certainly couldn't do that from a regular cup or even a sports-pak plastic bottle without lifting my head which, at the time, wasn't an option.

Just thought I'd mention it.

I've been searching for the past few years for an insulated bottle to keep water cold in the car. One problem many insulated bottles share is significant condensation on the outside (depending upon the humidity). I found a plastic bicycle bottle that did a pretty good job and didn't have condensation, but then I got this Nissan Stainless Thermos for Christmas, and it's clearly superior.

It hasn't gotten any condensation so far, and it cools so well that I have had to significantly decrease the amount of ice I put in it because even after hours there is still ice inside. In fact, the only problem I've had -- and it's a good problem -- is that I usually can't get the remaining ice out without running warm water on it because the cubes have fused together and are wider than the neck of the Thermos.

As a college student, I am always going from one place to another with my back pack, and carrying water bottles has made a mess and the water didn't stay cool for long. This bottle is awesome because I can carry my drink in the early morning and still drink it cold early at night because the ice cubes I placed in it have yet to melt. I placed the ice cubes in it this morning at 9:30 am. The cubes are still intact and it's 5:50 right now. I drank the drink, but the cubes are still in there and aren't even melted! The outside container does not change temperature, so it stays comfortable to the touch. My car loves it, too, because it doesn't drip or form condensation. And when it rolls over, it rolls over. No drips, no mess. I wish I had this a long time ago, seriously!

The bottle was one of my "Gold Box" deals; otherwise I may have never seen it and that would have sucked! When I noticed it had a 'permanent' straw, I was convinced to give it a try. I prefer drinking from a straw, even placing straws in soda cans. This bottle is comfortable to hold and never collects condensation on the outside of the bottle to make it slippery! On average, 5-6 medium ice cubes will take approximately 4-6 hours to melt when bottle is refilled with cool water. I drink a lot more water now than ever before! This is a GOOD thing!! The bottle is very easy to clean and the upper straw piece and bottom tube are easily detached and reattached. Mine came with an extra straw set. Although too large for my car's cup holders, I found that I can lay the bottle on it's side in the passenger's seat and it does not drip or leak. You will not believe how cold it can keep your beverage. Great for using when working in the yard under the hot sun. Now I have to get my husband one, too!! You really do want this bottle!! It's GREAT!!

At last a thermos that you can open one-handed and drink from without taking your eyes off the road. Unlike most thermal cups it doesn't leak with the lid closed and barely dribbles with the cap open even when held upside down. It fits in the cup holder on my jeep although it may not fit in your car's standard drink holder. However, don't let that stop you. Toss it onto the passenger seat, ready for those long thirsty stretches of road where you can't pull over and stop. The instructions say "no hot beverages" and "no carbonated beverages", but for an ice water lover, this item is ideal. I love this item and will use it on all my trips.

I purchased this Thermos because of past experience with Nissan products. I wasn't disappointed either, this thermos keeps things COLD!! I use this by my bedside for those times in the middle of the night when ya feel like something to sip on. I fill it with my favorite beverage (not carbonated) and some ice and when I wake in the morning, the ice is STILL frozen!! Ya just can't ask for anymore than that IMO. I love the feel of it in the hand and the stainless steel construction inside and out makes for one rugged unit.

Sure, I could have spent more but WHY?? This is a great thermos and a very good addition to my hiking supplies.

based on the previous reviews, I purchased this bottle. I've been using it for a week and can report that this bottle is worth its cost. It does NOT sweat, it fits into my purse, and it keeps ice cubes solid over night. Do not hesitate to purchase this product. I'm thinking about buying one for hot liquids also.

I was very happy with this product for awhile. All the good things other reviewers say are true. But it has one weak point. There is a removable plastic straw that transports liquid from the thermos to the permanent straw that you drink from. After about 25 uses, this straw developed a crack in it, and now when the thermos is down to about 1/3 full, I get mostly air when I sip. What a disappointment in an otherwise great product!

I take them everywhere; boating, job interviews, shopping, etc. I drop them and they don't become damaged, they lay on their side for hours without leaking, and they keep my water cold forever. In addition, the design allows those of us with small hands to hold the bottle comfortably. It will even fit in many coat pockets and larger purses.

I can't say enough about this product. If you are a water addict like I am, this is a must have. Be aware that you will get sick of people asking you where you got it!

Having lived in Hawaii, I know what it is like to crave cold water. I purchased this Nissan thermos after my Starbucks (Zojirushi brand) mug had problems with the rubber gasket. I had used that mug every day for 4 years in both Hawaii and Michigan. I contacted Starbucks and they no longer carried it but recommended a few others from other websites. None of them seemed to be what I was looking for. Since I have always been happy with Amazon, I decided to research containers for keeping water cold and selected this one. I have used this thermos for 3 weeks and am amazed at how it meets every expectation I had. I could not be happier with it.
Best features: * It keeps water(with ice cubes) cold for 16 hours (honest)
*it is easy to fill and easy to clean
*it does not sweat on the outside
*it fits in my car drink holder, but when I have coffee and a passenger and need both drink holders, this thermos will just rest on the floor of the back seat, and never leak a drop
*it is light in weight and ergonomically sound for my arthritic hands

I am a freelance writer and frequently write in different locations. I always carry a bag with my notebooks and reference materials. Sometimes the thermos gets rolled over and is in my bag sideways, yet it never leaks.

I am planning to buy several for Christmas gifts, and one more for me to hold my coffee or tea.

Don't worry about the straw...it was very easy to get used to, and it folds over perfectly every time.


I have not tried this bottle for coffee or hot liquids, but for ice cold water, it is the cream of the crop!
