Compact (7-1/2 inches high) and elegant, the thermos has a tapered, satin-finish exterior and tough, nonslip, black plastic top, bottom, and L-shaped handle. Fine threading ensures the twist top seals tightly, and a fliptop (adaptable to righthanders and lefthanders) opens the sip-hole and closes to prevent spills. I was duped into buying this mug, thinking it had a leak-proof, or at least mostly non-leak lid. In fact, there are better lids on cheap plastic mugs I have used. Make sure you purchase the Nissan mug that specifically states that it is leak-proof, and has a 6-hour capacity (this one will keep beverages hot or cold for only 1-hour). One more thing... it smells funny.

What I especially appreciate about this mug is that, unlike cheaper stainless steel mugs, this one does not impart a metallic flavor to tea. It really insulates, beverage stays hot for hours while the mug feels cool to the touch. My husband and I each have one. Don't leave home without it!

I bought this mug as a gift. The person I gave it to was unhappy with it because it leaked when he carried it in his backpack. It is a nice looking, good quality mug, but for the price it really should have a better lid. The lid will probably work fine if you only intend to carry it in your hand or car cup holder.
