Great but not perfect,

This mug is the best mug I have ever used for keeping the coffee warm. It's still very warm after lunch. On one occasion I left my coffee in the car for the entire day and when I took a drink it was still warm!But....The fatal flaw that this mug has it's top. It does not screw on. It has a slip on top secured by a rubber "O" ring. If the top is removed at any time after filling (with coffee) the top will not stay in place. It will actually pop off while it sits on your desk and not over time, almost immediately. So if you drink one cup of coffee a day and don't need a spill proof mug, this is the best you will find.

This mug deserves 5 stars for its ability to keep liquids hot for a very long time. It is attractive and easy to clean. I was disappointed with my purchase, however, because:1) The lid is really not leak-proof. It's even an exaggeration to call it leak-resistant. You must carry the mug fully upright if you don't want your coffee to leak out of the top (and onto your clothes, shoes, or the floor). 2) The drinking hole is too small. Because Thermos didn't provide a small opening somewhere else on the lid to mitigate the effects of the vacuum seal, you can only take tiny sips of your drink at any given time. It's virtually impossible to actually *drink* from it. I've resorted to pouring my coffee into a porcelain coffee cup, which defeats the whole purpose of this mug. I would have been better off just buying a true thermos. 3) It doesn't really hold 16 ounces of liquid, especially considering the leakiness of the lid.

Great quality and insulation ability. The lid could spill if tipped over, otherwise the thermos is wonderful. Materials used are very good and handle attachment to mug is secure. My previous Nissan thermos mug lasted me several years until I lost it. I expect this model to last even longer. This mug is easier to clean because there is no lip for dirt to trap. Cleaning it is very simple to perform and finish on the mug is very attractive.
