What a great idea! I've been using one for sometime now and I'm amazed at what it can be used for and how great things taste when cooked with. It's a must have item for your kitchen and more! Here's a similar model: Thermos Thermal Cooker RPC4500 4.5L Thermo Pot I also found some great info, recipes and demonstrations on using a thermal cooker at this weblog:

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST & Safest cookingware that's in my kitchen, December 15, 2007
I have had my Nissan Thermal Cookware for a few years now. And have been hunting to buy more for extended family. The product is very simple to use. Just bring your stews or soups or meats (like Mexican style carne asada or Irish corne beef) to a boil on your stovetop, put the pot in the thermal enclosure... and leave the pot to self cook the meal for a few hours. It's great!

I'm really phobic about leaving electrical devises on when I'm not home. And I'm very happy that this Nissan cookware requires NO ELECTRICITY! I recommend the product because it is easy to clean and safer than using a crockpot.

I sure hope Amazon is able to keep this product available & 'in-stock'!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars How did I cook without it?, April 16, 2008

Worth every penny.
I don't like the idea of leaving things plugged in and on when I'm not homme, fearing an electrical fire.

I used this thing when I lived in the dorms at school (with a good hotplate to get it started for ten minutes, then you put it in the thermal insulator and let it stay there)

I'd come home from a long day of classes to a full hot meal. So awesome.

Now, I use it to cook my steel cut oats, and make my batch for the week.

I have taken it camping as well, so I set everything for lunch going, and then I have all day to enjoy, and at lunchtime everything is hot and ready to serve.

If something happened to mine, I'd definitely get another!
