I have a one-liter version in addition to this two-liter one. Without its top, the 2L jar is 13 inches tall. With its top, it is 14 inches.

Either will keep ice solid for two days if left alone. You can put conventional ice cubes through the top if you melt the cubes for a few seconds (two or three) in water first. If one gets stuck in the top, pour a little water over it, slowly. Another hint: you can clean a Thermos innard pretty well with an effervescent denture cleanser tablet.

... Over a year after I wrote that review, I can tell you that this is the King of Thermoses. I am very glad that I bought it.

Bought the Thermos to carry coffee to work. Keeps coffee hot well into the afternoon, 6 hours no problem. Have not used it for cold transport, so I can't comment on that. I do like the way the handle collapses and folds nicely into the bottle.

goodness but this is an amazing thermos. i love it! its so big! i put my coffee in in the morning, and its still hot at night. ive been using those water bottle ice stick trays for ages now, and they fit perfectly into the thermos! besides, in a fight, i would rather have the thermos than a sturdy handbag. multifunctional!

Well as for the ice cubes I couldn't help but laugh at that until I worked up some tears but anyway that review actually convinced me to go buy this container. I can fill it about 1/2 full of coffee, (1/2 gallon would be way too much for little ol me) and I'll drink half of this in the AM and half after work. I love the design however it can be a little tricky to opent he inside lid cause it really is thin and small, however once I got used to it it's no problem at all. The design is way way cool and the handle snaps flat against the side of the container. I would give this an overall 9.9 out of 10. Why not 10? I dunno, I guess nothing is absolutely perfect but this is close!

I have been carrying one type of Thermos bottle or another since 1937! This 2 qt. Steel Thermos is the greatest ever. Since we retired, my husband and I have traveled in a motorhome from border to border and coast to coast. Keeping his coffee hot all day has always been a real challenge. I checked out all of the reviews prior to purchasing this one and we have not been disappointed. This last trip we put 6200 miles on the coach and not once did he have to drink luke warm coffee. My husband claims that it is the best on-line purchase I ever made.

This was the best thermos I ever bought for my husband. He loves it! It holds a full 12 cup pot of coffee with sugar/cream. He works outdoors in very cold weather and the coffee is still steaming hot when he refills his cup. He likes the way the stopper has a pour spout so he doesn't have to take the stopper completely out and lose all the heat. He even had leftover coffee one day and it was still hot the next morning, 24 hours later!

This thermos lives up to its name and description. Great buy! I would buy another if I ever needed a second one.

Keeps enough water very cold for a 2hr tennis match and doesn't leak or sweat in my bag...which is why I bought a Thermos for this. Crescent shaped ice cubes from an automatic ice maker fit fine. Giant cubes from the old fashioned trays probably don't. The only slight ding is that the outer shell dents easily owing to thinner sheet metal than I would have liked - yes, a nitpick.

My husband takes water to work and prefers a 2-quart container. Rather than purchase water in a plastic container, he researched reusable containers. The Thermos Stainless Steel bottle is the only container he found that stands up to daily use and keeps water fresh.

This is a great thermos bottle it really keeps coffee hot even overnight my husband still has very warm coffee. He is very happy with this product, we are ready now to buy other thermos steel bottles !

Wow! A super quality product that is sturdily made (stainless steel) and does what the company says it will do - keep drinks (in my case - home filtered water) cold all day and all night. Easy to clean. I can't imagine it ever breaking with normal use. Buy this and it will last a lifetime. Go, Thermos!
